For me the result is always the most important thing. If not why bother keeping the score? At last a win. This should dramatically improve morale and set us up for the rest of the season. It's heartening to hear that BG laid into the players at half time. Sometimes that type of approach is needed. The master of that dark art was SAF. Pep and Jurgen use it to good effect on occasions. That 3 points cheered me up no end. Especially after being 1 down. Who cares about 10 men & the wind? Well ‘er indoors keeps going on about the wind this morning....but got a feeling it’s for different reasons.....💨🤭

So he should do. Pleased to read this. I want the boss to fire in to the players more often. Get reaction. But they still didn't react immediately as Blackpool should have had the game won at the start of the second half and were all over us.

Yeah, Blackpool could have had three in the first ten minutes of the second half. I'd suggest the half time team talk didn't work at all.

Yes Blackpool did create some chances with 10 men but part of that was down to us pushing our full backs further up the pitch. Both of their decent 2nd half chances came from wide areas, fair play to them they exploited the space well. For balance how about we give BG some credit his first sub scored the winner and he made 2 attacking subs immediately after we equalised to try and win the game. Perhaps we ought to acknowledge what he did do ?

I’m all for post match discussion, but when it’s Rovers with all the chances/sitters not taken and on the end of a negative scoreline, most on here don’t want to know? It’s result only and abuse the manager till the days end. As we have seen in the recent Bolton & Tranmere fixtures.

Pretty much a lottery with the prevailing conditions so just delighted to come away with the win.The miss at the end was very similar to the JCH miss at Tranmere, fine margins cost us 2 points then but were regained yesterday. Karma.

Loved parts of yesterday, especially the final whistle and Alfie’s moment. But it’s time to drop a midfielder for a striker, Ollie and upson aren’t effective enough to sacrifice a striker. Upson’s role to play off the back four picking up balls and a quarter back role isn’t happening, he didn’t create anything and slows our possession down too much by taking it off Alfie or Craig to pass to our fullbacks, he kept trying to do a Hollywood pass in those conditions? Ollie isn’t technically good enough to be top 10 league one and struggles with basic passes at key moments, He shows fight and a lot more than upson but you can see him every game being sent off for something stupid or giving away too many free kicks when we need a player in the centre with a calm head and quick feet. One of these has to be droppped as it showed so clearly having timmy on as well having 2 up top it changes the game and stops them having all the time in the world to pick a pass out from the back. I actually think Upson is a very good footballer, just the one downside to him is a massive downside in the modern game...pace. He is so composed and calm on the ball, some of his passing and technique is fantatsic but he is just very slow in everything he does. I’m not doubting he has ability but it’s a league 2 ability, When you watch a lot of the decent oppositions midfield players they’ve planned the shape of the possession as their receiving the ball where upson is way behind that. If we’re planning our sights on the likes of Coventry then we need a kind of player that has quick feet and a quicker football brain on them. Portsmouth’s Ben close, coventry’s Liam Walsh for example, I know Walsh cost city £1 million but with garners connections there’s enough young premiership and championship players out there we can afford and progress and a lot better than upson.

I really hope by the start of next season Barrett is in a lot better shape as he could be what we’re needing but he’s way to over weight to produce the levels we need

Sorry lads I'm not convinced by the new regime. I want it to work, of course I do, but yesterday we eventually won against 10 men with the wind behind us. Our last two games have been a against teams in very poor form and we have won one of them by one goal. Though to be honest we can't really judge the performances because of the conditions. Also I think we really miss Tom Davies and Sercs. What really concerns me is our defence. It's a shadow of GC's and in the pursuit of pretty football I believe it's wrong to neglect its importance which I think has happened. Blackpool easily cut through it yesterday even with ten men. Next week will be the real test. The other worry for me is do we have the players with the technical ability to play class football? GC played to their strengths, I'm concerned that BG is trying to play above them. Sometimes it seems that we are a bunch of painter and decorators being asked to do a Rembrandt. Garner wants decent football and I don’t expect the same squad next season to be expected to play his way.. I should imagine there’s going to be a clear out and a new wave of young talent brought in, he’s rightly doing it his way and see who can survive or show promise

I should imagine there’s going to be a clear out and a new wave of young talent brought in, he’s rightly doing it his way and see who can survive or show promise [br Well he’s clearly a good coach hopefully he’ll be able to bring youngsters in on the cheap and coach them in to championship standard players. It will take time , if it works , I think most of us realised that at the time of Garner arriving and everything that’s happened so far just confirms that. Rome wasn’t built in a day but we’re 19 points from relegation so safe. It’s almost as if we’ve now got a 6 month pre season for him to get it right and hit the ground running next season so when next season kicks off no excuses it will be his squad playing his way. If we’re in the top half after 10 -15 games next season then he’s getting it right. If we’re in the bottom four then he’s getting it wrong. Time will tell.
