So if the season extends into June will players contracts have ended before then? Stick em all on zero hours contracts Cannot imagine any player out of contract at rovers or similar clubs having their contract renewed in june as things stand.

But games were getting called off one by one before the decision was made this morning. So surely better to make it a blanket postponement. Absolutely true. There have been 3 National league games already called off tomorrow through covid-19 related issues. The decision to postpone all games in the top 4 decisions has already been proved to be a correct move.If any National league games survive tomorrow they will be the last before they too are postponed for the foreseeable future.

Wondering if this might encourage wael to sell part of the club now with the future finances looking bleaker.

If any of you are looking for your football fix this weekend, there’s a local derby in the Gloucestershire county league as Little Stoke are playing Patchway Town at home, little Stoke field, 3pm

All somerset county league matches called off tomorrow. Is bad weather forecast? I watch shirehampton, who i played for in later years and the pitch has brilliant drainage. Its nothing to do with the weather. Dont think there will be a lot of sport going on for a while at any level. All southern league matches postponed for 2 weeks.

All shops are open, schools are open and universities are open. What additional risks are being avoided by this action bearing in mind the participants are extremely unlikely to spend their Saturday afternoons self isolating. They will be dragged to the local shopping malls by their better half’s or spend the day in the pub. Seems completely pointless.

Things are happening really fast so it must be difficult for minor leagues to decide whats for the best.

Yeah, and then they can do the Bath half-marathon tomorrow with 12,000 others.

It's not so much the grouping of large numbers, although that will also be a key factor, it's the obligation to have police and medical staff in attendance. If they don't need to be present at events then they are free to be reassigned to more urgent tasks.

So what are the police and medical staff going to be doing today which they wouldn't be doing if they were at the Mem etc? I appreciate this all now seems immaterial as it's looking more and more likely we won't be watching live football for months but it's nonsense to say the emergency staff are needed elsewhere this weekend. An article in The Times today suggesting the Premiership are likely to be in breach of their TV contracts if they don't fulfil all their fixtures this season and so could lose out of all the Sky/BT money for this season, I assume that will also apply to EFL clubs as well.

I guess you'll be too busy panic buying toilet rolls etc to attend a football match this pm anyway.

Lets hope not, I think the majority on here agree we need new players, the existing squad would probably get the team relegated, if and when a new season ever starts.
