The run down of industry created major economic issues in places like Baltimore.

For example

When they close the impact on City and County tax revenues is massive.
You do know that State taxes are the primary source of funds for State Schools, right?
Look at the date of closure, 1982.

I spent a couple of days there.
Every venue was almost uniformly occupied by white people and the police were very much in evidence.
All the bar staff were white, I bought some vinyl (jazz and blues) from a record store, staff...white.
Having destroyed primary industry its now a rich mans playground, protected by the police.

I maybe mistaken but I'm pretty sure you've mentioned that you believe the legacy of slavery was a major factor? Now it's the run down of industry which is making Blacks kill eachother in such numbers or Black kids being brought up in single parent homes? C'mon.

I'm not disputing that the run down of industry may be a factor in the poverty, but Baltimore still brings in lots of money through Tourism,i.e visitors to the Inner Harbour, 2 top sports teams in the Ravens and Orioles and Under Armour still have their headquarters there.

Where does the money go? It certainly isnt in the projects just a couple of miles away. You can't blame anybody else apart from the Democrat people running the City can you?

Again, all im doing is stating an historical fact that since the 'War On Poverty' legislation brought in by a Democrat has seen the Murder, Crime and Poverty rates sky rocket in places like Baltimore, a staunch Democrat City.

I have no political affiliation, I don't know if you've noticed but I dont get involved in the tit for tat on threads like 'This Government' 'Brexit Wins' or 'Virtue Signalling buffons' to name just a few.
