A soft one, maybe. But there was no need for it. Yep, that was the only thing I could find as well. I'm still not seeing the insult though. I'm also not sure that someone perceiving they have been wronged is the same as the accused being guilty of the charge. This is very tame in the big scheme of things and has the potential to get blown up into something much bigger as happened with you and Nobby. Have a look at the Brexit thread and see how the Remainers were regularly referring to Leavers as thick and unintelligent for their views on wanting to leave the EU. Your little spat here with Jung is small fry in comparison and, with respect, it reads like he's hurt your feelings rather than insulted you. As someone who is not able to debate like some of you on here, it's been interesting reading the exchanges on this thread so can't you two get past this perceived insult stage and get on with the debating?

I mean, the definition of an insult is to abuse or treat someone with disrespect. I certainly believe in the latter, but fair point. What I was looking exploit is the double standards the Jung employs whilst posting. He makes claims on other posters than he cannot/will not back up. He claims to be bullied when in fact I was specifically doing the exact same thing he has been doing to Oldie for the last week or so. He refuses to change topic until a point has been addressed, yet the same rule doesn't apply for himself. He says that he will back up his opinion with evidence, but when questioned - will not. He says he does not need to answer questions for positions that are not his to defend, yet continuously is desperate to force that upon other posters, post after post. I believe that I have nos been successful in exploiting this, and am happy to of course continue debating. |

Which triangulates to the claim of capitalist exploitation made by BLM. TBF...it’s not just capitalists ....think one or two communist states may have a use for these things. And just wait until we are all driving our electric cars with all those precious metals in the battery as required by many environmental pressure groups..... That's alright then. |

I am sure, given I would imagine the Nation of Islam are active, there are anti semetic elements. But you linked, through the Daily to Mail, to words directly attributable to BLM. They rightly called out the Israelis for what they are doing and queried the silence in the west. Nothing wrong here, move along. 2 things, no scouring, just looked for the same twitter feed that we were discussing yesterday, and up pops the story that I linked today. Secondly, as I've explained to our mutual friend Gassy, the fact that The Mail hosted that Twitter content is irrelevant, I can honestly say that I've never searched for The Mail's website to obtain news or opinion, like you, I understand that it's no better than any of the equivalent left wing toilet paper. Oooo, Nation of Islam, black supremacist anti-sematic racists who stand on street corners with Bibles in their hands shouting at passers by last I heard. Not sure how much danger or threat they pose, maybe you can advise on that one? I've always just thought of them as annoying, totally bonkers and that nobody takes them seriously. Maybe I'm wrong? Again, happy to learn here, but I don't think they could say the stuff they do in the UK, they only get away with it because of US free speech laws. Just one for free. I very much doubt that the Nation of Islam are standing on corners clutching copies of the Bible. To be honest. |

Firstly you would have to establish and demonstrate that it was my intention to be disrespectful or abusive, as I've already stated twice that it could be me that's in the wrong your entire argument falls at the first hurdle. Is this the 4th, 5th or 6th time that I've explained to you why the meaning of the words on the BLM statement meant one thing and I changed them to make them mean what you were suggesting, you've not countered that point, I presume because you can't. Let's go over the burden of proof one more time. We don't have to agree, but if challenged you should be willing and able to defend your position, the evidence put forward can then be assessed, it's up to you if you find it compelling, you may choose to dismiss it out of hand, I have no control over that. Sure, we can discuss that evidence, but neither side can make the other agree with a position or view. What you can't do, in normal debate, is make an affirmative statement, have someone challenge it and then say to the other person that you believe it's correct and the burden falls on them to disprove it. Hope that clears things up. If not just shout and I'll try to find a link or two that may explain it in a different way. |
