A 100 % player always gave his all, is he another one who has worked it out that its a waste of time playing for a manager who is as inspirational as a bag of cement. Gave up a testimonial as well to get out of the club, can't be a happy place to be at the moment, local boy would have been well supported. At least Mansfield have their new shirt out, I wonder when ours is going to be launched. I wish him well,Rovers through and through. Another day, another negative Rovers post. This, at a time when the future at the club hasn't looked as strong in years. Come on Horfield, cheer up π

With Ollieβs departure It means the last player to have played non-league football for Rovers has now left the club. In addition it means there is now only one player on the books who has made more than 50 league starts for us (Upson 66+2) whilst one other player has made more than 50 league appearances for us (Rodman 41+15). It also means that the earliest a current player made their League debut for us was in the 2017/18 season (Andre, Bennett, Kelly, Menayese, Russe)....and because Andre made his first appearance as a sub in our 6th League game of the season he is technically our longest serving player! The close season departures also mean there are only 43 Rovers League goals in the whole squad and with 24 JCH has more than half of them, no other player has double figures (Rodman has 7, Bennett, Ogogo and Upson have 3 each). The team has 35 + 6 home grown league appearances in it (Kilgour, Russe, Tomlinson) and 2 home grown league goals in it (Kilgour). Further to this Thought you might want to see the full league apps and goals information of the 21 current squad players who have appeared for Rovers in the EFL .... Name. Lge Starts. Sub Apps. Lge Goals. ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ Upson. 66. 2. 3. Rodman. 41. 15. 7. Ogogo. 41. 2. 3. Clarke-Harris. 38. 4. 24. Kilgour. 34. 3. 2. Leahy. 31. 1. 0. Bennett. 29. 19. 3. Kelly. 22. 5. 0. Just shows how much of a squad overhaul there has been (and may potentially continue to be) when you have a player who signed less than a year ago and missed half the season due to injury sitting 9th on our appearance list from the current squad.

Itβs not supposed to prove anything, I keep a spreadsheet for each season and just put together the carryover statistics ready for the next campaign. I know a lot of gasheads donβt keep track of this info so I thought Iβd share it since I had it to hand. Thought it would be a nice change for a fact to be posted on this forum rather than rumour, innuendo, supposition and just pure drivel of which there is plenty.

Sadly, OC was not good enough at L1 level. Next season he would have been a squad player at best. The club only offered a one year contract. That speaks volumes.
He may thrive playing football at a lower level. I hope he does. One thing for sure is that OC fits into GC's view of a midfield player.

L1 you need a bit of extra quality that Ollie is either lacking or not able to produce on a consistent basis. Sincs similar 'no thrills' battling midfielder also returned to L2. Also Ollie picks up a lot of yellows and usually goes missing after getting one (through fear of a red?), and I think his goals, combined with his homegrown tag, masked his ability somewhat.

It reflects a high turnover of managers over the last few years, and the board's willingness to back them.

I can't understand the negativety against Olly Clarke he's been a good servant to the club and it's obvious the one year offer was a token gesture by Garner. On his day he is a good league one midfielder, consistency is his only problem,I'm sure he will do well at Mansfield.

Can't win on GasChat hahahaha.
OC rumored to be signing new contract - "not good enough, league 2 is his level, can consider himself lucky!" Leaves and joins League 2 Mansfield - "How dare he! Does he have NO ambition! How dare he call himself a Rovers fan!"

We will have to hope that BG can put together a squad like DC did in 2014 which was full of good characters who were able to adapt to the conference after the debacle that was 13/14. UTG!

Mixed emotions on this one. He's clearly a good 4th tier midfielder, a decent 3rd tier one and he's been a real servant. But our midfield is stuffed with similar players and something had to give (personally I'd much prefer OC over Upson but one's under contract and the other isn't). I wish him all the best, leaving the boyhood club wouldn't have been an easy decision for him. Has a genuine shot at promotion with Mansfield and fits into the GC mould of playing.

Anyone watch the interview on the Mansfield site? He said that Mansfieldβs training facilities are amazing and are squad werenβt fit till couglan whipped them into shape. Said that he felt he didnβt fit in anymore as all the old guard had left us.
