The Cowley's were never really up to the job as the jump from L2 is massive, having had a season to get going it seems odd timing to sack them now. I wonder if Nigel Clough is lined up as their replacement? They're now favourites for the City job. I really like the Cowleys, so naturally I'd be watered off to see them at Trashton. Come on guys, you can do better than that!!

According to the HTFC forum the Cowley's are going south of the river. And some are even pleased to see them go, footballs not been great. As they’ve been fighting relegation perhaps that’s not too surprising. UTG!

Huddersfield rumoured to have Marcelo Bielsa highly-rated assistant Carlos Corberan lined up. Previously assistant to Manuel Pellegrini and working alongside others like Ernesto Valverde and Fabio Cannavaro in the past. Corberan is rated by Pep Guardiola and was recommended for a job by him previously. Corberan's Leeds Utd U23s won the PDL Northern League 18/19 season by winning the league, they then became the national Professional Development League Champions by beating Birmingham City in the final. www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/football/marcelo-bielsa-hails-talented-leeds-united-coach-carlos-corberan-570004

Gary Monk also got a mention. Apparently the statement, I expect you know, said applications are not required which means they have someone already for the post. Probably been in the planning for a few days. Be interesting to see how the Cowleys react or where they go, after a continuous up and up since their Concord days they’ve finally been sacked. The current chairman came in for some stick on their forum, their PL days seem a long way away now. AFCB beware, keep your nerve with Eddie! UTG!

The leagues are littered with clubs who sacked managers because fans/owners didn't like the way there teams played, and who were promptly relegated! Huddersfield looked nailed on certainties for relegation before the Cowleys went there and i imagine there brief was to save the club from relegation. Having done that the question was could they take the club to the next level I.E consolidation by playing a more expansive style? the owners have obviously decided not , but i do think they at least deserved a chance. We ourselves had the same scenario with G/C who was prob given the same brief, and succeeded admirably. G/C was the man for the moment and very grateful i am to him, but i do not think for one minute he could change his mind set and suddenly start playing like Barca, he was an uncompromising defender by nature and he carried this philosophy into his teams ,some times through necessity , but just as some one like PEP could never contemplate playing such a style, some one like G/C will never set up teams to play a more expansive game. Even when we reached the dizzy heights of 4th there was plenty of moaning on here about the type of football we were playing! There seems to be a pool of managers clubs send for when they are in trouble, bit like a recue agency aka Nanny MCFEE! then mission accomplished off they go and wait for the next call, bank balance suitably enhanced! I remember when Sam went to West Ham and was told to play 'the west ham way! ' 'oh' says Sam, you want relegation?' Mean while G/C is now boring Mansfield Fans While we are starting off on project Ben to propel us to glory, good luck Ben, up the Rovers!

It's ludicrous. All Wigan have to do is to appeal to ensure they stay up. The proceedings could take many weeks, and the EFL can't wait for the result before deciding who is actually in which league next season. So the points deduction has to be carried forward and not imposed now. Wigan's legal fees will be hefty, but much less costly than relegation. Luton and the others will not be impressed. Didn't Luton get relegated via a points deduction in that current season a few years ago?

Who we going for then?
Forgetting about Wigan for a min, bottom 3 close of play I reckon will be Hull, Barnsley and Charlton.

Tom Lockyer having left the club for championship football, could well be back playing at the Mem next season. Far from what the young lad would have hoped for, I’m sure.

I guess that depends on how he's perform all season, if he's had a good one he'll be sold for £m's and probably get a decent pay increase. Luton seem to have the easiest game of the bottom 4, I wouldn't be surprised if Wigan didn't beat Fulham.

Even Birmingham could be relegated tonight if Charlton and Luton turn their games around and Wigan don’t get points deducted. Big if though.

Interestingly Wigan plan to withdraw their appeal if they finished 12 points or more above the relegation places. As things stand, they are about to save a lot of money.

At the other end, WBA choking again, they've had about 4 attempts to sow it up.
C'mon Brentford!!!!
