Good signs there suggested by the BBC radio Bristol commentary team? Sorry to say we were second best all over the pitch today in my opinion and will need a dramatic change of fortune to compete with the better teams in our league!

Well that was pretty awful and if you thought Rovers would finish in the top half then I think what we have just witnessed says different. We need 2 stikers and a system that plays both of them on the pitch. Relying on one player up front doesnt work.

If we’re lucky the money we got for JCH might just cover the sacking of Garner.

Alfie Kilgour is not in this game - makes me think his mind is elsewhere ? Playing in wrong position. Should be right or centre back not left!

On the plus side some of these players will be cracking under a decent manager.

The movement and performances were much better against Cardiff ~ those with any sense could see that But we still lost. We had bright spells in games under BG last season but we were still getting beat every week. ffs give him 10 games before you throw the towell in. And, again, I was making the point that our performance against Cardiff was much better than today's

I’m struggling to see a difference from Rovers under Garner last season, other than no longer having a goal scorer. Kilgour looks like he hasn’t been told he’s not on furlough anymore and I can’t see Baldwin as an improvement on Menayese. If we play like this up at Sunderland we will be thumped. I thought the summer would actually do a lot of good for our prospects under Garner, new team, full pre season, new assistant manager. On the basis of that maybe not, looked lost defensively with no real bite up top to threaten Ipswich, but still early doors. Expecting a response against Sunderland next week.

Shocking 2nd half - can't even find a straw to clutch at.

Those with common sense didn't get caught up in Cardiff. A game we lost anyway despite all the pretty football. And they got thumped today. Perhaps they're sh**e? The movement and performances were much better against Cardiff ~ those with any sense could see that Why is that though? We looked bloody good in the second half v Cheltenham but Cheltenham made three subs and surrendered the midfield giving us plenty of space to play in. Any old team can look good when they are given the freedom of the park to make decisions in. I didn’t see the Cardiff game but perhaps Cardiff let us play well rather than we impressed ourselves upon them? Pre-season was all about building up to today to a certain extent and next Saturday categorically. As a dress rehearsal for next weekend a 3-0 thumping somewhat indicates that any optimism stemming from the friendlies was wildly mis-placed. I’m not convinced Garner is a manager at the end of the day and I don’t think he will ever prove me wrong.

The worry for me is I expected us to be a pretty team, easily beaten physically but with a good defence. We ended up being a team that wanted to be pretty, easily beaten physically with a sh** defence.

I did not expect a win but I did expect a reasonable performance. First 20 mins were OK but the longer this game went on the more our inadequacies showed to the point it became embarrassing to watch. Without the addition of a couple of strikers it's going to be a relegation battle. Surprised how poor and slow our back three were and little creativity in midfield with nothing upfront at all. Mr Van Shotstopper was the only player who can say he earned his wages.

We just dont look like we have any fight in us. Garner should be on the phone to Ogogo apologising and asking him back to work.

Not sure why anyone is surprised by how dreadfully poor this was. BG’s record was unbelievably atrocious when he had experienced players on his hands of a far higher calibre than what he’s brought in. This performance was a stark contrast to that wonderful away day we enjoyed with GC. Today with no JCH, Craig, Sercombe, Clarke, Agogo phased out for who knows what, Upson on the bench, was a very hard watch. It’s going to be a long old slog this season I’m afraid.

That was very disappointing. Ipswich played through and around us and we seemed to be chasing shadows for most of the game. I don't think the front 3 is going to work as they all seemed to GE very far apart.
We need a proper CF who can win and hold the ball up so another can play off him. Without that we will be in every defences pocket. The manager has work to do.

Bens on a rolling ten game apology benefit, so after every bad game we’re supposed to give him another ten games to turn it around or we are meanies.
