Wow that was so bad, it's scary we are less than a week away from the real action.

But we still lost. We had bright spells in games under BG last season but we were still getting beat every week. ffs give him 10 games before you throw the towell in. And, again, I was making the point that our performance against Cardiff was much better than today's Perhaps the players simply can't perform for BG when it matters? Although Cardiff were stuffed 3-0 by Northampton, a side who lost at least 3 of their best players from their play off side. Not sure what giving him 10 games will achieve, if we're still losing when we play Northampton then I can't he'll suddenly turn things around.

Not sure why anyone is surprised by how dreadfully poor this was. BG’s record was unbelievably atrocious when he had experienced players on his hands of a far higher calibre than what he’s brought in. This performance was a stark contrast to that wonderful away day we enjoyed with GC. Today with no JCH, Craig, Sercombe, Clarke, Agogo phased out for who knows what, Upson on the bench, was a very hard watch. It’s going to be a long old slog this season I’m afraid. One thing Garner has successfully achieved: I’d Dam KILL to have Coughlan ball back- and I couldn’t stand Coughlan!

Nothing different from end last season. Players scared to keep the ball except Westbrook, JML. Ayunga looks ok. So did Upson and Hare. Little should not be in team? Nicholson trying too much. Too many terrible passes from defence to midfield. Got hammered everywhere on pitch. Hoof ball would have been better?
Ipswich looked good because we were poor? Could have been 5 or more.
A waste of time and £10!

Played 18 Won 2 Drawn 5 Lost 11 Worst. Manager. In. Our. History. His win ratio will be a minus figure the way it’s going.

One game too much already tell him not to get back on the coach.

The movement and performances were much better against Cardiff ~ those with any sense could see that Why is that though? We looked bloody good in the second half v Cheltenham but Cheltenham made three subs and surrendered the midfield giving us plenty of space to play in. Any old team can look good when they are given the freedom of the park to make decisions in. I didn’t see the Cardiff game but perhaps Cardiff let us play well rather than we impressed ourselves upon them? Pre-season was all about building up to today to a certain extent and next Saturday categorically. As a dress rehearsal for next weekend a 3-0 thumping somewhat indicates that any optimism stemming from the friendlies was wildly mis-placed. I’m not convinced Garner is a manager at the end of the day and I don’t think he will ever prove me wrong. Time will tell

Hardly unexpected - attitude change needed at managerial level

Regret spending money to watch that to be honest. Let's hope we are just getting the poor performances out of our systems before the league campaign kicks off as that was atrocious.
Most concerning thing for me today was the defence. I kind of expected us to be a bit lacklustre going forward as we haven't replaced JCH yet but defensively the 3 CB's looked lost next to each other.
Time and time again, they found space in behind and the runners weren't being tracked, Ipswich made it look easy.
The second goal just before half time knocked the wind out of our sails, under Coughlan we would of come out of the dressing room all guns blazing, trying to turn it around but today there was no response and we didn't even look like threatening the Ipswich goal in that second half.
Simply has to be better next week against an equally tough opponent in Sunderland, given he has one of the worst record of any Rovers manager, there will be a lot of pressure on Garner to improve, especially in the league.

He's got 7 more games for me.
Next 3 are write-off unfortunately but needs to win almost all of the next 4 - certainly play incredibly and get at least 7 points from them.
If not, at that point he's had 25 games and will have won no more than 4 - FOUR - games.
Will copy the link to this post for 7 games time.
Others are welcome to do the same

The issue for BG is that it's just a continuation of last season's away form. No fight, giving easy goals away, punchless upfront, even more so not without JCH/a replacement. Not sure BG's suddenly going to find a winning formation of the players won't perform for him.

Without looking at the fixtures, atleast 2 of them will be cup games anyway.

8/1 to get relegated for those interested. Seems a decent price.

That famous military quote 'No battle plan survives first contact with the enemy' seems particularly appropriate for BG. I'm sure his tactics look great on the i-pad but when they don't work on the field he doesn't seem to be able to adapt to the reality of the situation.

He's had more than 10, how many you want to give him? Dont be daft ~ not with this team Some issues are agnostic to the team though- one classic example is that we typically got worse after half time. I didn’t see the game today but it seems from what others are saying we were even more inept in the second half today, apart from Ayunga having something of a positive impact.
