8/1 to get relegated for those interested. Seems a decent price. Was 10/1 a few weeks ago.

It makes a little more sense than going mental after our first game. aim not saying I'm a BG but surely a little time is allowed before people get the knives out ? The issue for BG is that it's just a continuation of last season's away form. No fight, giving easy goals away, punchless upfront, even more so not without JCH/a replacement. Not sure BG's suddenly going to find a winning formation of the players won't perform for him. You could be right ~ I live in hope that this new squad plus a striker and a little time might prove us all wrong

I haven't read through the whole thread and after watching the game I can probably guess at the majority of the comments. We were very poor throughout very few positives, however as bad as we have been since Garner took over I do think we have to give his side a bit of time. Westbrooke looked tidy and despite not everything he tried working always wanted the ball. JVS had a good game & to me showed his is an able deputy. Going forwards it's clear we have to replace JCH whether it's like for like or not a new striker is a must

He's got 7 more games for me. Next 3 are write-off unfortunately but needs to win almost all of the next 4 - certainly play incredibly and get at least 7 points from them. If not, at that point he's had 25 games and will have won no more than 4 - FOUR - games. Will copy the link to this post for 7 games time. Others are welcome to do the same #HappyToStickMyKneckOut He’s got all season mate

I swear that there are people on here who are only happy after a poor result If that’s the case we’d surely want Garner to stay?! Every game we sink to lower depths

Perhaps the players simply can't perform for BG when it matters? Although Cardiff were stuffed 3-0 by Northampton, a side who lost at least 3 of their best players from their play off side. Not sure what giving him 10 games will achieve, if we're still losing when we play Northampton then I can't he'll suddenly turn things around. It makes a little more sense than going mental after our first game. aim not saying I'm a BG but surely a little time is allowed before people get the knives out ? In all seriousness he does need another ten if we’re giving him the benefit of the doubt and allowing him to compile his own team. But the signs are bleak. Some of us have been saying we’ve been thoroughly concerned with Garner and the decision to let him have that opportunity and were hounded for being negative. For us, nothing is a surprise today. Today we were crying out for a Millwall tone, an Abu Ogogo, a JCH. Sercombe scored against Peterborough today. My post about the signings wasn’t tongue in cheek it was deadly serious. We’ve made some tidy signings but we’ve also lost for good some of what made us bloody hard to beat under the manager who was derided for being a PE teacher. We looked like boys vs men today - it’s possible to play tidy football with some physicality as Ipswich demonstrated. Still hoping to be proven wrong.

They have had to wait 6 months for this 😂. For us to win a game? He's got a 50% win rate in the last 6 months.

I swear that there are people on here who are only happy after a poor result I think that's a bit unfair. All of us are happier when we win. I suspect (and I'm probably guilty if this) that some of us have been warning of this for some time and haven't been convinced by Garner at all but we keep being shouted down and told to stop being negative/give him time etc. I think maybe a little "I told you so" smugness is in evidence. I apologise for that.

We need a new striker this week - either the bloke we are supposedly close to signs or we need to move on.
I can just about take us losing if we have had a real go .... but once again under Garner we looked clueless and toothless.
Mick Mills summed us up .... " Bristol Rovers look a bottom of the table team, you cannot win games by not replacing your proven goal scorer"
Garner needs a confidence boosting win on Tuesday night - lose like this again and we are royally set up to fail under him this season.

What I will say is that a lot of that Ipswich team have been playing with each other for a while now, they've only made a couple of signings this summer so far. For us, 5 of those starting today were new signings, JVS isn't the regular keeper and even Hargreaves and JML haven't been with the squad all that long.
It will take time for them to get used to how each other plays and their roles and responsibilities under Garner's new system. Expected us to be a lot better today but I think this is something worth keeping in mind.

Possibly unfair on DC that, but some fans would have expected us to boss the conference so bad results early on couldn’t be tolerated. With Garner he’s had a fair wedge of games now. Nobody is criticising him for losing a one off cup game away to Ipswich - the criticism is because this is another game in a long sequence of defeats. Garner didn’t rock up in pre-season.

And some of the players may be different but the performance was identical to what we become accustomed to under BG since he ha come in.

Christ, that’s pretty damning to be described by someone outside the situation as looking like a bottom of the table club
