Couldn’t see one so thought I would get the thread going. A note on my credentials, I have a 100% win rate! Having started the thread for Sunderland at home last year, never had the chance to start another as I keep getting pipped at the post.
Think today is a must win for Ben, on paper at least. The Cobblers should represent a different test to the 3 league games so far and my only concern is the weather is likely to be atrocious and will probably play to their game more than ours.
That’s said, as with Sunderland last year I have that sneaky feeling that we will get a result, hopefully a good performance and result.
For me the teams is:
Anssi
Kilgour Ehmer Harries
Hare Tutonda
Grant Westbrooke
JML Nicholson Hanlan

...but where are the goals coming from? You’ve left out our top goal scorer. 😉

That aside I don’t think you are far off with that side.

Tutonda seems to have more of an attacking threat, always willing to take on his man etc, that’s from what I have seen of him anyway. But you are probably right it will be Leahy

I don’t live in Bristol but having looked at the forecast, surely there’s no chance this game’s actually gonna go ahead?!

If Hare couldn't be risk last week then without a mid week game is he likely to be risked this week? You do have to wonder why we've 3 LB's but only 2 RB's both of which have long term injury issues.
I don't get the forum obsession with playing Tutonda, as whenever he plays he does little more than Leahy but lacks his experience.
If Nicholson isn't fit to start I'd go will Ayunga and Hanlon upfront, as they should at least be a goal threat.

I don't know why people are so obsessed with 2 up top and assume this would instantly mean a goal threat. If we don't create, we can't score.

It’s going to be a hard watch today with the poor weather and nature of the opposition. However the carp weather means the club have another iFollow payment from me today as I swore I wouldn’t watch this one after the Doncaster debacle. What else am I gonna do on a day like today? Wash the cars? Gardening? Housework? Pub? Ooooooh pub! Sack the game actually. See you all after the game for a good moan Gasheads.

I think the weather will be BG's excuse if we lose. "We couldn't play the football we wanted in these conditions"

Absolutely zero excuses today. If we can’t beat Northampton at home then we won’t beat anyone.
Must win game or he’s got to go.

'Well I thought the players did really well today and the two shots on target were double last week's, so we are improving every game. Once again the decisions of the referee cost us yet again, he was at fault for both their goals and both should have been disallowed, just like the referee decisions were at Sunderland when they should have had a player red carded. Today when they pulled a goal back to make it 2-1 it gave us a mountain to climb and if it wasn't for the referees decision we would have won, just like we would have won every game and every friendly this season and I would have won that game of cards on the coach to Ipswich. Everything seems against us at the moment, we have been affected more by Covid 19 than any other club in the country and the weather today favoured the opposition as they are used to that in Northampton. So plenty of positives today and drawing 2-2 against this team is superb as I think they will be up there at the end of season just like every other team we play every week. Don't forget Sunderland should have had a man red carded'

I think the weather will be BG's excuse if we lose. "We couldn't play the football we wanted in these conditions" That or the ref, or player mistakes, or opposition doing something illegal or anything other than any decisions he’s made, or any tactics he’s employed or the team he’s selected, the formation he’s decided upon or the subs he’s made or not made. If Garner extends his diabolical record today it sure won’t be him taking any responsibility for it.
