Can see us getting bullied today. We will play some pretty football but ultimately toothless in both boxes. I hope I’m wrong.

If they score the first goal, I can only see game over for us?

Need to go 2 upfront today for me. With 3 up top Hanlan is left too isolated with the wingers.
I like the look of Hanlan and he works bloody hard, but it’s a pointless job as pretty much the only player. He needs someone to play off of him

Ehmer needs to show that he has some of what Millwall Tone had for us and start to really marshal and guide the defence as a proper captain should. The midfield need to show for the ball and play it forward quickly, and hopefully we will play Ayunga and Hanlan up front to give their defence something to think about. BG needs to put some fire in their belly at the start, and show that he can analyse what is going on from the touchline and change things tactically if aspects aren't working.
This game is, imho, make or break for BG. If we don't win today it will be: Two transfer windows. 24 games. 2 wins!!!!!! ...and he must go

If they score the first goal, I can only see game over for us? If they score I can’t see us winning, unless BG changes his tactics. We aren’t set up to score goals, but worryingly we can’t keep them out either.

If Hare couldn't be risk last week then without a mid week game is he likely to be risked this week? You do have to wonder why we've 3 LB's but only 2 RB's both of which have long term injury issues. I don't get the forum obsession with playing Tutonda, as whenever he plays he does little more than Leahy but lacks his experience. If Nicholson isn't fit to start I'd go will Ayunga and Hanlon upfront, as they should at least be a goal threat. I don't know why people are so obsessed with 2 up top and assume this would instantly mean a goal threat. If we don't create, we can't score. So you think Hanlon playing upfront alone is effective? Surely two strikers can manage at least a shot or two on goal, as Hanlon hasn't managed a single effort so far. Although Hanlon could easily drop into one of the wide CM role behind Ayunga anyway. I just don't get what BG sees in JML this season, all he seems to do his fall over to try and win cheap free kicks.

Bit ashamed I predicted last week's 4-1.
Think we'll win today tho, and then beat Rochdale at the end of the month. But that's it.

It is not effective when the tactics are just long ball to a solitary striker. The midfield have no chance to get a foothold.

He needs someone to play off of him I completely agree I believe JA needs to play alongside Brandon upfront we need to do our business in and around the Northampton penalty area, so for me it is either 4-4-2 or 5-3-2 in the later formation the wing-backs need to be attacking. . Unfortunately I think when it comes to attacking style, Ben is I believe a one trick pony and will start with only one central striker, if so I expect a narrow defeat in a low scoring game.

But I suppose that would mean they won't want to go in for tackles - good idea.

Not sure we are quite at ‘must win’ stage yet but for confidence we need a win. It probably won’t be pretty with Northampton’s style combined with the weather, so I hope he has them fired up for a battle.
That’s my fear with Garner... does he have that nasty streak?
I’m hoping for a good performance and a comfortable win, 3-0 with strikers on the scoresheet
If it stays tight and we concede first I’m not sure I fancy this team to scrap back
I agree with other posters that we play 2 up top, I like 5-3-2 but I’m not sure Garner does. We just look a bit lightweight with our current set up, so even a good old back to basics 4-4-2 might give us more punch
Whatever the formation let’s hope for 3 points. Anything less and this place will truely be in meltdown!

The weather ain’t that bad for Pete’s sake. I cannot imagine it being cancelled due to a bit of rain. However I can imagine it being blamed (along with the ref and his “decisions”) for failure today.
In any case I’m watching on iFollow and I really hope BG and the squad can turn this bad start around.
I’d love to see something different than expected. I think most of us want to be proved wrong today.
