Boro fan tells me he's 6 foot Frosty, Bristol Live: "I'm 22, I want to come and play men's football and get as many games under my belt as I can." The 5ft 7in midfielder brings vision, a range of passing and balance to the Gas midfield being naturally left-footed. He will compete with Zain Westbrooke, Josh Grant, Ed Upson and Tom Mehew for one of the two holding roles in Garner's 3-4-2-1 system. It says on his profile he's 1.7m tall or 5ft 7in in old money.

I think we’re over cooking the supermarket puns now. We’ll have to make sure we check out Ben and see if he can produce. That probably won’t be til he has settled in the squad.
I will stop now.
In all seriousness welcome Ben let’s hope you flourish with us.

Are these all midfield players, in no particular order: Grant, Upson, Westbrook, McCormick, Tomlinson, Hargreaves, Barrett, Rodman, Mitchell-Lawson, Nicholson and now Liddell and only two loanees amongst them - a bit baffling to me - was hoping for someone with just a tad more experience. But good luck to the lad though he’s at least one of ours

Welcome Ben, I hope you find your time here more successful than the previous Boro youth captain we signed (Jonny Burn).

Another young, lightweight central midfielder. As others have said it appears an odd transfer.

Not many league appearances for a 22 year old!

I agree with others that it does seem like a strange transfer as we're loading the squad chocka with CM's. Surely at least 1 will be going out on loan?
Nevertheless if he improves us, that would be great, and I really hope he does.
Got to hope that we bring in another striker as well, and preferably someone with some league experience to help the younger guys along.

He’s one of ours on a permanent deal so let’s all give him a chance.

Probably just taken from the Transfermarkt website to be fair, notoriously unreliable.

defensive midfielder and apparently also plays centre back. I've read he's 5'7", so centre back? Naturally left footed will help, but I thought a priority would be striker type of player? Nevertheless, for 2 years at least, welcome... It really would not surprise me that in the wacky world of Garnerball a 5’7 centre back is a vital ingredient...

Called this on striker offered thread a couple of days ago Can you call it that we are signing an experienced striker who’s scored 20 in a season at EFL level? Please?!

We seem to find it a piece of cake to find youngsters with no goals or experience so I was hoping we could be just as good at finding players who can score and do have some experience. We could always do nothing and struggle to score goals of course.

I think if it was equally as easy to sign a proven 20 goal a season as it is to sign an untried youngster then everyone would be doing it!

No one had heard of David Tutonda and we have to trust our recruitment team, just everyone is quick to criticise without having seen the lad. Next close season will be interesting when we have released some more high earners . Let s stay open minded when we signed JCH some were going bansai on here
