I think its very clear there are a lot of nerves jangling in the fan base mostly around whether DC is up to it ? The team on paper looks good now but we are really struggling to get wins on the board. By some stroke of luck we are still really in it and i keep expecting the tide to turn in our favour. With the talent we have in our squad surely its just a matter of time before we go on a massive run of wins

I haven't checked this, but I find it hard to believe that any team has made the playoffs with a goals to games ratio of 1.1 (24 goals to 21 games as it stands). Hence the two new signings. This isn't going to click immediately, but it needs to pretty soon or we'll start slipping to mid-table. Our position flatters us because of the poor form of everyone around us. We don't deserve to be 5th based on current form or goals scored, or at least not in comparison with what a typical 5th placed team's stats might show.

Just listened to the DC interview and see nothing wrong with it. He's right, some on here think we have the devine right to walk this league. Ask Luton how difficult it was for them and they have been much higher than us over the years.
It's the best I've seen us since Lambert left. At least they play for the shirt and a manager who shows passion. Utg

Imagine Chelsea playing sheffield united . We have a good squad on paper, we must start winning though

Surely the standard of our playing staff is equitable to the level we currently play at? We aren't playing Conference football with the squad of the Lambert era.

Utg We've won just 2 games in 10 although we have probably one of the highest wage budgets in the league, I think fans can expect a bit more than throwing away a 2-0 lead to a team only still in the Conference as Hereford went bust! You can forget worrying about Luton as they were in a terrible finance shape when they went down whereas we seem to be in reasonable shape, it probably took them 2 or 3 seasons just to get their finances back in order. I'm not sure how many games you've seen but the games at Telford, Alfreton & against Kiddy were hardly the best since Lambert left as we had the Muzzy inspired spell under MM, the JJOT inspired spell under JW and even the period under JW before Gow was injured. In any event perhaps it's more worrying that the players are now putting in a decent shift but poor management decisions are costing us points.

We aren't playing Conference football with the squad of the Lambert era. The opposition are poo DC has inherited one of the best back 5s in league 2 last season, has a league quality midfield and as such we are bound to look good at this level. He has inherited and built a side good enough to walk this league. I just dont think you can compare it to a rovers side playinh two leagues higher Against better sides. This squad would get destroyed every week in league 1

Some people really need to get over the opposition. We are where we are. Simple as that. As Luton fans said, the quicker you get over it the easier it becomes, for yourself and the club.
Dins, the opposition in League 2 are also crap.
Also, i'm getting bored of hearing how it's luck that we are where we are. It's November. All of the teams at this point have been playing to deserve where they are. I'm not saying we're good, maybe the other teams are crap, maybe we're just less crap that some, but it's all bloody relative. This is our league. We deserve to be here and these teams are our level now. Get over it.

This squad would get destroyed every week in league 1 He inherited a team who got relegated in L2. Only three clubs have ever bounced back. The inheriting a side to walk the league comment is rubbish. The defense was good at the first half of the season last year, then McChrystal's confidence died and we lost the best right back in the league. Lockyer barely played RB last year so he's not a part of that defence, Trotman came in, half the back four is different from the regular back four last season.

Harley i think you are taking posts too literally. People know you are where you are etc they just mean going on a run without wins like we have but still being in touch may not have happened often. We should not rest on our laurels.
DC has a good squad now, time to show us he can get this squad to deliver

Please dont misquote me to try and discredit my post. I said he has inherited and built. The back 5 had a fantastic record last season and this season. He has a great midfield now all but one of which he signed. We have a very good team. This post was also in the context of a discussion about how you cant compare us now to our league 1 side

This post was also in the context of a discussion about how you cant compare us now to our league 1 side Sorry mate, to be honest i opened up the last page and barely saw the previous discussion. As for the first post, i just get a little fed up of people (not necessarily you) saying we should win this, we should win that. Chester almost got relegated last season, yes, but before the day they won 5 of their last 6 home. People don't look at that because it's Chester etc etc but before today I would have took a point. Don't get me wrong, we need to start winning again and im bloody gutted we threw away that lead, that makes it feel more like a loss. That being said, it's not like their weren't positives either, we seemingly played better in open play, we're doing far, far better away from home than previous years and Blissett got his first goal. I expect more from this team when Balanta/Goldberg fully enter the fray. I agree, we do have a good team now, he has to get the most of it. If things start to come together, we're in a pretty decent spot to captialise.

I was there today and after we went 2-0 up Chester really went for it. they left themselves open and on another occasion we could have got a 3rd goal. It was right to take Taylor off because he had run himself into the ground and was blowing out his ar$e. De la Verde is only young and I can see that DC wanted to make sure he didn't burn out. Hopefully he'll be fresh and raring to go Tuesday. Taylor had a great game today, was always there to receive the ball and kept the defence on their toes. All those knee-jerkers saying DC should be sacked are wrong. It was an entertaining game played by 2 committed teams. A good day out.

DC will be gone by the New Year.
We should be romping this league.
Any fan who knows the history of this club will know that we shouldn't be where we are know.
The board of directors and manager are responsible for the demise of our football club.

The board of directors and manager are responsible for the demise of our football club. With the squad we have we should get promoted, if we continue to drop points he will be gone but i cant see it.

Inconsistency is the hallmark of teams in the making and even more so when they're not scoring regularly. Hopefully a consistent striker among the new recruits will help lift the team up a notch and they'll go on a promotion push. It's not too late to catch Barnet; we have a game in hand on them and play them on Tuesday, which could narrow the gap to five points and everything to play for. If we lose on Tuesday then I think the best we can hope for is the playoffs. I have a positive feeling about Blisset. I hope I'm right.
