DC will be gone by the New Year. We should be romping this league. Any fan who knows the history of this club will know that we shouldn't be where we are know. The board of directors and manager are responsible for the demise of our football club. Christ. We're starting to sound like Liverpool fans banging on about our 'history'. Forget history. It means **** all.

I don't understand posters who said they are fed up of fans saying we should win every game, as do any fans actually say that? What fans are saying is that we shouldn't throw away 2 goal leads to teams on probably a quarter of our wage budget and we should be doing better that 2 wins in 10. Why put no defenders or goalie on the bench when you can only bring on 3 subs anyway?
If DC can't deliver a win this week he'll be gone by this time next Sunday as NH simply can't afford to miss out on a Play Off spot.

Our history ? I know our history aswell as any guy, we are in general a below average team that spends most of our time in a constant struggle to survive ! We have been trying for years to get a new ground that might change things for the better and we nearly have it, but we are a nearly club, so don,t hold your breath eh ? We could all go and 'support' Chelsea I guess, that would make us happy ? We are having an up and down season, but are still near the top. I know it was a poop to drop 2 points but looking at the guys who saw the game, we played pretty well, get behind the guys and SUPPORT them to a promotion ( you don't hear that word often as a Gashead ! ). UTG.

I think its very clear there are a lot of nerves jangling in the fan base mostly around whether DC is up to it ? The team on paper looks good now but we are really struggling to get wins on the board. By some stroke of luck we are still really in it and i keep expecting the tide to turn in our favour. With the talent we have in our squad surely its just a matter of time before we go on a massive run of wins I dont believe its a stroke of luck were still in it? Were still in is because most of the teams in this league are poo! thats been clear for sometime, trouble is we have struggled at times to rise above that. I am though a DC supporter, I like his philosophy for our club, and we have now made progress on trying to address our deficiencies up top. When I hear it quoted how hard it is to get out of this league (a convenient excuse for failure to do so) I have to wonder why? Going by what I have seen this season, it looks damned easy if someone was to take the challenge on by the scruff of the neck.

There are plenty of fans who believe that due to the size of our club, that's we should walk the league. If DC is sacked by Sunday if we don't win this week, then Higgs a bigger idiot than I previously thought. It would prove that we have learned nothing over previous years. Sure, let's allow a manager to build a team bringing in his own players, including letting him sign two players this week. Then force another manager to work with them, he may not like them but he's got no choice. Then, let's have to build an entire new squad in the summer under the new manager, just like the last few years. If you don't learn from your mistakes you're doomed to repeat them, and although some of our managers in previous years had to go because we were dangerously close to relegation, we clearly aren't close to relegation here. I'm sorry, but anyone who thought we'd walk this league was stupid. Two teams have bounced straight back. Bigger teams than us have took far longer. This "oh but we're bristol rovers" viewpoint is idiotic at best, because all we are is a poorly run football club, much worse ran than clubs with far smaller budgets, that have been sliding backwards for six years. We have a basis to improve as a team, we could quite easily (infact I expect us to) be in the top five in this league. We're on a bad run of form, yeah, we'll look at the teams in this league who haven't been bar Barnet. Lastly, and it's a common thing I say. Give me a manger, bar Martin Allen who I personally don't think would come at this moment, who is a guaranteed success at Conference level and is available at the moment, then we'll talk about replacing DC.

Just listened to the DC interview and see nothing wrong with it. He's right, some on here think we have the devine right to walk this league. Ask Luton how difficult it was for them and they have been much higher than us over the years. It's the best I've seen us since Lambert left. At least they play for the shirt and a manager who shows passion. Utg We've won just 2 games in 10 although we have probably one of the highest wage budgets in the league, I think fans can expect a bit more than throwing away a 2-0 lead to a team only still in the Conference as Hereford went bust! You can forget worrying about Luton as they were in a terrible finance shape when they went down whereas we seem to be in reasonable shape, it probably took them 2 or 3 seasons just to get their finances back in order. I'm not sure how many games you've seen but the games at Telford, Alfreton & against Kiddy were hardly the best since Lambert left as we had the Muzzy inspired spell under MM, the JJOT inspired spell under JW and even the period under JW before Gow was injured. In any event perhaps it's more worrying that the players are now putting in a decent shift but poor management decisions are costing us points. Seen all those and a lot more, and stick with my point. You don't build up people by being continually negative. They are improving so support them or find something else on a Saturday

The manner in which we gave away 2 goals yesterday was frustrating, I hope we learn from it that if we have an advantage of our winger causing the opposition trouble we maintain it. If he was injured then of course that's a different matter.

This took a long time to get into place but from here on it its time for DC to deliver no excuses

Frustrating day at the office. We should have won, there's no doubt, but as Jose Mourinho would say, 'that's football'.
It doesn't mean that DC should suddenly be sent packing or that the players aren't good enough. It's just a pain in the arse that we lost 2pts we should have had.
Plenty of positives to take from the game, which we dictated for large periods against a good side on an excellent run of home results. Keep playing like that and we'll not be far away come the end of the season. UTG!

Lincoln fan in peace here.
I spent 3 years working in Bristol in the late 80's. Due to lack of money I couldn't afford to get back to Lincoln to watch the Imps so instead I used to watch Rovers. Happy times they were, loved Bristol. Enjoyed a few beers on a saturday and then cheered Rovers on.
What I'd say to you guys is keep going to watch Rovers no matter how bad things get because the big, big difference between Rovers and just about every other team in the Conference are your attendance figures. The bigger the crowd the bigger the playing budget. The bigger the playing budget the better the chance you have of being promoted. Wishing you all the best.

You cant blame the manager just because the defence didnt do their job. Yes, 2 goals conceded and 2 points dropped. But once the players leave the comfort of the dressing rooms it is up to them how they perform. Everything i've read about the game on saturday suggests it was a good game of football, but as we all know, football can be a funny old game. The thing is we scored 2 goals, appeared to be on top and then Chester scored their 1st. Like any other team, they went in search of a 2nd and got it. Maybe if DC had not made any substitutions, we might had got a 3rd, but as i didnt see the game, i dont know. So, lets just keep supporting the team and the manager. One day, everything might fall in place and someone will be on the end of a hiding from us. What we need to do now is focus 100% on Tuesdays game with Barnet and go out with the aditude of getting 3 points!

Chester Fan- I come in peace.
First- really enjoyed the game on Saturday with 2 teams trying to play football on the deck. You have other options available with the pace and size of Blisset and mixed it up well. We had 2 small quick strikers so the long ball was not an option until we made subs in the last 15 minutes. Of course you are all disappointed by the result, especially after leading 2-0 and yes you should have shut up shop better but stop beating yourselves up- there were loads of positives.....
First, a decent following for such a long journey although both sets of fans seemed a bit quiet until you scored your second. The ground acoustics don't help much but if you can get behind the team the way you did at 2-0 you will give your side a real lift. That was probably the loudest away following since we reformed.
Second- the boy Blisset looks a bit raw but was a real handful.
Third- Matty Taylor. Seen loads of comments on here slagging him off but I'd have him back tomorrow. He needs a regular place and he'll bag you goals. Outstanding player at this level (and this is where you are for now)- remains to be seen how he does when you go back into the football league.
Fourth- LDV. Caused us loads of problems although he was playing against a centre half covering at full back.
Fifth- I don't think you lost the lead because of the substitutions. It looked like you ran out of steam. You had players blowing a bit and we took advantage. I think we'd have done the same at 2-0 and took off an attacking player for someone more defensive.
Sixth- don't think the conference premier is a far inferior league to league 2. I've seen league two with Chester City and I've seen the Evostik North, Evostik premier and the conference North divisions. I think the big step up/ down is between the conference North and the Conference Premier. Don't get hung up on not being runaway leaders. You've had to rebuild and start again. With the size of your crowds you will be able to get the best players at this level (you can't have Kingsley James though:)
Seventh: Bar our dominant 10 minutes your defence looked really solid.
Eighth: Be happy you don't play with a team of 6ft 4 ins players and play hoofball. Plenty in this league do and its wins games. Personally I hate watching it. You have a team of footballers.
Finally: You met us in the best form we've been in for 2 years. We walked the lower division where our crowds of 2500 to 3000 dwarfed the opposition. Last year we should have been relegated but for Hereford's problems. Steve Burr our manager knows this division. He's built a team playing his way and keeping it on the deck. We got battered 5-0 at home on the first day of the season and he stuck by his beliefs. He nearly lost the faith of the fans as we lost the next 3 home games too but its slowly coming round and its a pleasure to watch now, win lose or draw. Stick with your manager. Don't give him forever but at least give him this season to turn it around. If he's not up to it then, find someone who is (except Steve Burr:)
Good luck for the rest of the season

Lots of nice fans in the Conference. Very rarely did we get this in the League but it's almost a weekly ritual now.

There are, believe it or not, some positives about non-league football. Firstly, there are some smashing little clubs out there that are an absolute pleasure to visit. Secondly, clubs at this level are supported by true football fans who love their clubs ie they're not glory hunting, plastic fans.
The Non League Paper is a good read and it demonstrates the depth of English non league football; long may it continue.
