I’d be tempted to ask to have the glory days of Coughlan back, I doubt hull would have rolled Coughlan’s side over. He just got done 4-2 at home by Barrow. This iteration of Coughlan-ball yes, but he had a different set of tools last season and did well with them.

The subs came 10 minutes too late. It’s becoming a bit of a recurring theme that we go one nil up then sit back and try and soak up the pressure thereafter. That might work against sides lower in the table but Hull have players that can punish you given the opportunity. Not sure Oztumer actually done anything better than McCormick was doing before he departed? Truth is we're not quite good enough to compete with the top 6 sides. Plus we've nobody to replace Hanlan when he's not having a good game. We beat the league leaders away. We drew away at the biggest club in the division too. So we can compete. The 2nd Half was very disappointing, their manager made a triple change and all 3 scored to completely change the game, BG needs to learn about game management and making changes at the right time, but I don't think its fair to say we dont compete.

And that’s how you use subs, why do we always leave it so f**king late! Got to get Oztumer & Nicholson in for Saturday and probably Alfie too. Disappointing but another hard lesson to learn I’m afraid. We got exactly what we deserved f**k all! We will be okay, UTG!

Our weakness was down the left flank, Tutonda was caught to high up the pitch at times and Harries didn’t do a great job of covering.
Despite that though it wasn’t an entirely poor performance, there’s lots to take out of that for Garner and the team, I expect we’ll bounce back at Rochdale on Saturday.

Overal I don’t think we played that Badly. hull upped their game in the second half and we switched off at the back post for their second and Baldwin f**ked up for the third. 2 very poor pieces of defending to make it 1-2 and then 1-3 Other than that i thought it was fairly even first half where we created the best chances and hull were slightly better in the second half and we gifted them two goals. Defensive mistakes again. Thing is we could drop Baldwin for Kilgour but all defenders make mistakes at this level. One thing I think we saw again tonight which was the same as v Ipswich Sunderland and Doncaster is Grant isn’t a ball winning midfielder who will break up play and get stuck in and you need that against the better sides. He doesn’t retain possession well either, not sure what his point is Definitely our weakest link so far this season , Westbrooke is like a quarterback moving around all over the place spraying passes around. He needs someone alongside who will stay central and win the ball and get stuck in. Ogogo would have been perfect partner for him. Garner didn’t want him fair enough but we need that kind of player in there for these tough games.

Disappointing, but Hull are a big club for this level and you'd expect them to be up there this season. That said, I don't think we should chuck the towel in because they've recently been in the Prem and I'd like Ben to be a bit more proactive with changing his tactics - I don't want to go into half time expecting us to go backwards on our first half performance in a horrible reverse of what we were like under DC and GC.
But recent results have earned us not to rip the guy to shreds so I'll say no more tonight.
As I said in my first post on this thread, expect us to bite back at the weekend.

Got to say but Garner cost us that tonight, they used subs at the right time he waited for them to score to make a change , like Garner but he showed he was new to management tonight very nieve . We will get this with an inexperienced team and manager

Poor defending for all three goals to be fair ... Hull took their chances Well but we made it very easy for them Tutonda was poor tonight and the third goal was just awful. No disgrace losing here to a well organised, gritty team with a bench who have the biggest mouths I have heard in a while. We are not a top six team by a long way and people on Here need to calm down and forget promotion and the bastard ridiculous bus that hopefully has failed its MOT after tonight. We are progressing though .. so enjoy that. We go again on Saturday ..... We used to have a well organised gritty team. Now we have a bunck of boys with a couple of old timers thrown in for luck

Completely agree with you. Think we should've got a draw there. Midfield has to be better at getting the ball to the forward 2 . I think our forward 2 will get goals with better service. Hare didn't get up the pitch enough for me. Harries is not at the same standard as the rest of the team - too shaky.

Bens tactics when leading games is awful we are at our worst when winning which is quite the opposite of most teams we just go into a shell

People need to get over this whole "Coughlan would have done better" thing. He left, not the other way around.

Thing is you make two mistakes like that against a good side and suddenly your 1-1 draw is a 1-3 defeat.

I hate to say it but in a way Hull deserved a goal then just to put it into context how sh** that defending was. Scratch that, Eaves has scored from even more bad defending. This is a bit of a wake up call that we can’t live with a side that can go through the gears. I chuffkin' knew it wouldn't take long for you to crawl out again!!! You couldn't wait to say ' i hate to say it......... blah blah.

Hull pressed us very well tonight and none of our players were given time on the ball, and Tutonda and Hare probably suffered most from that. I initially thought we were dealing well with their substitution, as we appeared to be chasing and tackling the new players, but that stopped after Tutonda's error. Onwards and upwards though, as I thought there were encouraging signs, not least in the way in which we started the game.

A second half capitulation but no need for any panic. That is as much an off night as you’ll ever see for the same XI that is unchanged for many weeks. There’s a chance to ring the changes, freshen it up and correct things Saturday. Where in my opinion we have played our very best football, away from home.

Played well first half and Zain had a good chance to make it 2 0, second half played too deep, Ben will learn from that, their second goal looked like Baldwin was tripped. We wont win every week new team developing not going to get too down.

Hull are a team I expect to be up there. I don't like how we invite teams on to us so much when going a goal up and I do think BG was a bit slow to change things. However I am willing to put this down as a blip and look forward to Saturday.
