How on earth will the club decide which 2000 ST holders are allowed in when we move from tier 3 down to tier 2? Will the club even bother opening to 2000 - they will probably make a loss when extra staff are paid etc as there will be no additional revenue from pay on the day fans. We're tier 3? We will be tier 4 , if we don’t start winning some games.

Surely the amount of fans will be determined by the capacity and nature of the venue though.... I don't want to come across as a doom merchant but 4000 socially distanced in Ashton gate is easier than 2000 socially distanced at the mem!? I was thinking that earlier, surely a % of stadium capacity would be a smarter idea?

I expect the club or Government wont allow / risk the over 60's. Which would be ironic as when the vaccine is being ready its, among other groups like front line NHS workeers, going to be the over 60's getting it first, which if having the vaccine becomes a condition of entry it may only be the over 60's that may qualify. Ironic innit I don't know, I get a bit confused. There are different types of irony aren't there? It's not dramatic irony, that would be if fans were allowed back but didn't know they were allowed back but the audience did.

How many season ticket holders do we have for this season? I thought we had only sold 1k? Just under 3 thousand if I recall correctly.

You might miss the second half queuing up for the loo.

Came here to say this. The 4/2k numbers are maximums and will be applicable mainly to prem/championship teams. In our league only the likes of Sunderland will be able to take full advantage.
I'm a ST holder and I'll be annoyed if myself and my family don't make the cut but it isn't all or nothing. Anyone in is good for the team.
It would be interesting to see how some of the mouthier patrons where I stand behave when they are a bit more exposed!
Perhaps if Bristol is in tier 2 and 2000 spectators are allowed in, we could rotate which season tickets are allowed in every week. Like ie, you’re entitled to 2/3rds of the remaining home games and any you don’t make, you can have a code on ifollow for. Just a thought. I think it would be fairer to reward those who have held season tickets longest - the clubs most loyal supporters being rewarded.

Ironic innit If the whole point of the restrictions we’ve been living under is to protect the NHS then once the over 60’s and those with certain underlying health conditions have been vaccinated we should resume normal life. The vast majority of the population only have minor, if any, symptoms and once the most at risk are protected there should be a complete culture shift - those who are still concerned have to protect themselves and restrict their movements and activities whilst everyone else gets back to normal life. Once the most vulnerable have had the vaccine there should be an immediate reopening of everything, including football stadiums. I hope this is by February.

Sadly this government doesn’t deliver anything in their own timeframe, if they’re saying it’ll be by Easter than expect it in the summer.

Yeah , rovers could probably only have a few hundred in the ground. Have to remember the thatchers end is out of use as the away team emerge from there. The boxes are the best area as bubbles could use them and they have their own loo and food etc is already there.

Don't think it matters too much how big or small your ground is, I believe the government wish to discourage thousands of people descending on one location. Probably more relevant in areas where supporters utilise public transport more than we do though.

This Government is leakier than our defence. Are you sure? UTG!

To be honest even if the club are in tier 2 and allowed 2,000 fans in they can’t serve alcohol so it’s really not worth it until we are in tier 1...from the clubs point of view anyway.

They can in the boxes and hospitality areas as food is served. Perhaps a sit down option of Pie & Chips can be offered in the main bars?

Maybe, just don’t see how opening to 2,000 pre paid fans and then only being able to sell them a pasty and a chocolate bar is cost effective. I suppose it all depends on how much money the club is willing to lose

Also we are assuming that the people who rent the boxes don’t want use of them. Tough gig for the club to figure out and not something I’d want to do.

Or just use the usual tunnel and changing rooms? I’ve never understood the need to move the away team when during the course of a game nearly all the players will be grappling with each from corners. Bizarre.

Didn’t we say a few months ago that we’ll be having fans at the Mem until we’re allowed at least 50% capacity due to it not being financially viable?
