Results did improve when PT came in, take some time to check them, then around the time we lost Jaakola we started losing again. The big problem is your hero, Wael, fully backed Garner dismantling a top 6 chasing squad and bringing in a bunch of kids, including 4 LB's to replace them, with no obvious leaders. Craig, OC & Sercs plus JCH were all allowed to leave. How Widdrington got a promotion on the back of his recruitment failures is totally baffling.
You wonder what other manager would have taken this job on once they looked at the squad, you also have to wonder if any potential signings are now doing the same and deciding they don't want to be part of a squad relegated.
All we can really do now is support PT as there's no time to bring in another manager before the transfer window closes. Wael also needs to raid his inheritance for another £100K's for a signing or two, or Rovers stock value will drop significantly if we get relegated this season, with the training ground looking a poor investment.

Fact - Clarke and JCH were both offered new contracts. They wanted to leave. Additional facts - we signed Baldwin and Ehmer with other 300 games together at this level. Not all the signings were kids.

I honestly believe at our level we could easily let Tisdale go and put any old club pro in charge and we’d see an improvement. In our current predicament it’s hugely about mental attitude and Garner and Tisdale have proved themselves ineffectual in that regard.
I don’t get the surprise amongst our support in what Tisdale is achieving. If we were a struggling fourth division side he may well have been a good appointment.
His current record is about what he’s achieved in this division over the last 20 years not sure why that would change with us.
Like I’ve previously said the problem lies with Starnes who just managed to employ a bloke he knew from his career path. In this appointment Starnes has shown all the imagination of a Plymouth corner shop grocer. The sooner Wael bins Starnes the better chance we have of moving forward.

The point is that the record isn’t that different...and it’s worse than Garners! We panic sacked, panic hired and now Wael won’t put his hand in his pocket to back a failing manager. We were working “two windows” ahead with a young, new manager and should have stuck with it. Our young manager should have been backed and let his coaching skills (3 weeks at the quarters!) develop the team further. It is a catastrophic mess! if you're seriously suggesting Garner should have been better backed you're clinically insane. Tisdale is worse than Garner. He has less points, played key players in pointless cup games leading to injuries, awful tactics, no in game management and no contacts for players to join him. If you can’t see Garner was improving and Tisdale is a failing, downhill no ideas panic important it is you that has the head problems.

No they didn’t. I take it you didn’t watch games against Swindon and Wigan then. We did beat Wombles away (they are worse than us) Plymouth were without 4 key players, we got very lucky against Blackpool. Jakkola injuries do not explain the poor team selections and tactics which he employs. One swallow doesn’t make a summer and we have enough evidence after 12 games to know that Tisdales record in L1 is exactly on par with what we are achieving now. Which is failure.

Wimbledon have sacked Hodges. Decisive move after a poor run of results. They backed him to the hilt as a club. Hodges last 12 league games: Played 12 W 1 D 2 L 9 = 5 points out of 36 Tisdale last 12 league games: Played 12 W 3 D 2 L 7 = 11 points out of 36 No doubt they will get that new manager bounce and move up the table. Something that every club, apart from us, seems to get when they change manager!

It wasn’t a great game and wasn’t the performance we wanted after our excellent point at Peterborough but some of the comments following the final whistle are laughable..... talk about overreaction... Yes we lost and we are in a sticky situation but we are no way as poor a team as being made out and Rochdale score lots and lots of goals - their Achilles heel has been conceding but when we don’t have an on form forward line - we were always going to struggle to score.... To be fair Leahy scored a cracking goal, Nicholson was unlucky hitting the crossbar, Kilgour was foiled by an outstanding reaction save, Ozzy shot wide when he should have got it on target, Hanlan had one shot saved by the keeper, another wide when he should have hit the target and as a team we had a number of other decent chances.... we dominated 2nd half especially but most of the game without getting the penetration right - too often we keep trying to walk the ball in the net rather than taking an early shot... Finally those saying Leahy was poor and can’t defend, he was one of if not our best player today - as the Gas Cast and Lord Byron we’re implying in their commentary. Rochdales goals came from 2 mistakes by us and that’s the main difference at the moment - our mistakes get punished where as the opposition’s doesn’t...... Anyhow, time to not look at Gas Chat until tomorrow or beyond as I’ll only get wound up by some of the overreacting and ‘expert’ comments..... Jesus - talk about head in sand!!! Definitely not head in sand and maybe call me a blue tinted but whilst we are in a relegation battle at the moment, I personally believe from this game and every game I’ve seen (and I’ve watched every match this season) that we will be ok. We are not being outplayed in games - in fact in most we are dominating the opposition or they are even games, we are not getting stuffed - we’re losing by the odd goal and for. A number of our losses we deserved at least a point and the we’ve been unlucky. Our issue is every mistake our defence makes is getting punished and our forward play is not clinical enough.... I don’t believe that will be the case for the remaining 24 (!) matches..... Also for a number of those games we were missing our most creative players and they’ve only just come back in...... We have too much quality - get Daly back (and he’s) close as he’s a natural poacher, ideally sign another striker and the law of averages means our defensive mistakes will stop getting punished so much and add to that actually cutting out the mistakes in the first place and the talent and quality we have in Nicholson then as I said, personally I think we’ll be fine and we’ll finish mid table..... All a personal view but I don’t see how this ‘our entire team is crap’ and we are poor in every department and the ‘we are relegated’ talk does any good as it just gets us all spiralling in a doom and gloom, slag and bitch anyone and everyone to do with the gas off mood.... Maybe I’m just an optimist and lots on here appear to be pessimists?

You do realise today wasn't a one off, as Sam Frost said we're sleep walking into relegation, if 1 or 2 of the teams below us start winning games we'll be relegated. Tisdale's not improved the performances at all, which is a concern given how poor a manager BG seemed to be. Unless we pull of a minor miracle and win at either Accy or Fleetwood then that'll be 9 games w/o a win. I do realise the loss was not a one off - I’ve seen every match this season but whilst we lost, the performance and the manner of defeat was nowhere near as bad as the overreationary hype being spouted on here. Yes we have lost a few, but I personally believe that we have enough about us overall to climb the table and get the wins we need in the remaining 23 games we have! You say performances haven’t improved? I think performances have bar 1 or 2 games been pretty good and we’ve lost by fine margins. I also see you’ve questioned Tisdales contact list in another post? A manager who has managed in the league for over 1000 games and come up against nearly every manager in the premiership and league and has received high praise from all? I’m pretty certain he has enough contacts to sign players we need!?

I’ll wake you up in May when we are down. But we are not a bad football team in my opinion!? We have had a run of bad results where we have lost quite often unfortunately by fine margins and the odd goal but performances have not generally been bad.... we have also only had our best player return (Nicholson) and Daly is due to come back very soon (and he’s a natural poacher)... I believe we have too much quality and the law of averages will mean our luck will turn and those moments like Nicholson hitting the bar and Kilgours save and Hanlans save etc and also the every mistake is punished will change in our favour. We’re not world beaters but we are not poor or crap.....

Oh dear. Again.
Collectively poor defending, again. And poor goalkeeping, again. Also, with the few opportunities presented to us, poor finishing means we got exactly what we deserved and are exactly where we should be. Poor.
The policy of non marking in penalty area, allowing too much space and non stopping of crosses and shots will take it's toll. Rochdale took full advantage. And why not? If this is how we choose to defend, pretty much anyone could do that!
I think Tis made mistake again with unforced substitutions. Barrett, Ayunga bring nothing to the table and although we can give them time to acclimatise, time is going to be running out soon. Grant was a forced sub and again performed, well done to him.
I also would question Westbrooke involvement from the start as in open play he's almost anonymous. From dead ball deliveries, very decent sometimes.
I would question Ehmer defensively. Can't complain with the sublime cross for Leahy strike but defensively I can't see what he does as a captain? Gave the ball away horribly twice yesterday that led to dangerous counter attack.
Brendan (🤭) ran socks off again, but because we play with no direct support for him, he's left exposed and hasn't scored this year. He desperately needs a strike partner of credibility, yet Tis alludes there will probably be no addition. Maybe that's not his fault, but why not recall some youth? Can it really be worse than not scoring?
Some approach play is very decent. Leahy my m o m in that respect. But, in attack and on the ball we lack pace. It's like watching in slow motion when we're in opponents box. Easier to defend than the direct play of Rochdale.
I'm still very much behind Tis, bit it's not unconditional. The recent run in form is alarming, and as much as I admire his post match level of honesty, I am left with no confidence he can turn it around. Quite honestly, I'm left with no confidence ANYONE can turn this around with these players, making basic mistakes is difficult to work with!? It's difficult to see where the next points are going to come from..
In summary. We had chances to affect change, but didn't take them. We didn't capitalise on Rochdale's mistakes like they did with us. We deserved to not win this match. It's the best way to dampen enthusiasm from a spirited display at Peterborough.....what happened in 2.5 days to allow that to happen?

And I think that is really the problem, if we played really well but lost because of mistake/errors then you’d at least be positive about Tisdale fixing that. Problem is we’re playing rubbish and losing.

It’s good having different views - I don’t think we’ve played particularly well but I don’t think we’ve played particularly bad bar 1 or 2.... depends what your expectations are and what type of game you enjoy.... I don’t mind sideways possession passing to try to work openings and I don’t expect a team running around needlessly all the time but I do want sharper closing down, maybe a quicker shift of the ball forward after possession passing to work an opening and variation of play between short passing and more direct.... we’re a league 1 team and from all the other league 1 sides I’ve seen, I think bar a couple we’ve been on a par..... Maybe I have a lower expectation level of performance..... (I try not to let the result affect my view)

My biggest concern is that after getting rid of too nice to be a manager Ben we’ve replaced him with another thoughtful nice character in Tisdale when what we really needed was more of a Coughlan type character due to the lack of tough leaders in the squad. We play most games like they’re friendlies.
