If Mc cormick is fit then he needs to start. He’s got energy he gets stuck in and he plays the ball forwards. Our best midfielder this season. Agree. He’d be one of the first names on the team sheet every game, for me. He’s our best all-rounder in midfield IMO. Can do a bit of everything & crucially has the legs and combative side to him that Westbrooke doesn’t.

Much improved but if we are comparing it to the performance at Accrington we'd have been hard pushed to do worse.
Ignoring league positions and current form and just looking at this as a one off game away from home, I think we did pretty well.
Apart from 1 excellent save from Day at the start of the second half I never really felt like Fleetwood looked like scoring. We showed the necessary fight and concentration to keep their forwards very queit.
I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say we bossed the midfield but Grant had a good game and Liddle did okay after a slow start. However, McCormick definitely improved us when he came on so I'd play the same team but McCormick in for Liddle on Tuesday.
It was good to see Daly back and his pace twice took him in behind their defence, firstly misfiring with his left foot and then failing to latch on to a ball forward from Bladwin when it loked like either him or Hanlan could have got there before the keeper.
The front 3 caused Fleetwood plenty of problems, Hanlan and Nichsolson both putting close range efforts just wide in the second half and on another day we might have got 1, if not 2 penalties.
All in all, a better performance and a welcome point but I felt our play might have just deserved all 3.

I am clearly not neutral but both penalty shouts looked very strong to me.

I am clearly not neutral but both penalty shouts looked very strong to me. I thought the same especially the second one, nailed on in the premiership. Also i thought Hanlon got a raw deal from the Fleetwood defence all afternoon but he does hit the floor a bit easy.

I agree, definitely looked a foul on hanlon, penalty or obstruction. I also thought the defender had a chunk of ayunga when he cut the ball back, he should of made more of that.

A solid if unspectacular point. A point probably fair enough. Neither team did enough to win it.
Having Daly back looked a big plus, he is a real menace and can smell blood. We seem to have so many players that can play in the middle but none stand out. The best is probably Ogogo but obviously hes now our injured. I was thinking back to that spine that BG got rid of under GC. OK, Jaakkola got injured quite a bit, and JCH was never gonna stay but getting rid of Craig and Ogogo along with that was really self destruction.
Anyway we move forwards.

I think the only way to sum it up is that on Tuesday we looked like a poor L2 side, and today we looked like a poor L1 side.

I'll take that! Much better, but against a team stuggling for form?? Still not sure what we need? Think we still miss the creativity of Ozzy, but can't fault the workrate today, apart from Liddle, who struggled until substituted. I don’t agree about Liddle. He broke up play and covered on the transition well and I get that he is not as eye catching as McCormick, but played big part in our clean sheet. Agree, don't underestimate Liddles contribution out of possession, protected the back 4 very well and hasn't played for 10 weeks or so so obviously way short of match practice. Take in to account his performance against Darlington he will be ok better than some of the other players played in there this season to date.I would replace him with McCormick for Tuesday however as we need to win.

Daly did well today, his battling style up top will serve us well in the games to come. He’ll get fitter and sharper again soon no doubt

Wasn't the suggestion Ogogo was forced out as there were concerns over his fitness, PT brought him back and now he looks to have picked up a season (and Rovers?) ending injury, perhaps BG, or whoever advised him, made the correct decision as we're now left paying 100% of his wages for the the rest of the season. As far as Craig which one of us would have offered him a 2 year contract in the summer to match what Crawley were prepared to offer him? I assume Baldwin, who was captain once in his younger days, along with Ehmer were seen as Craig's replacement, not sure why BG thought Grant & Liddle could replace Ogogo/OC, upfront we've always looked one striker short.

Then we go back to having just Grant as a CM who can tackle, unless we revert to 4 at the back and McC then replaces a CB and we play 4-4-2 with McM and SN playing out wide.

After Tuesday's debacle this is a real positive result. An away point is always valuable and a clean sheet too. Please please please start the next games with McCormick.

Craig may have and most likely would have taken 1 year with us over 2 years with them tho? But it’s only an issue in hind sight tbh. I was gutted to see him leave but I certainly didn’t see him as irreplaceable at the time

I am clearly not neutral but both penalty shouts looked very strong to me. I agree. I think for Hanlon’s appeal he had dived around too much earlier on so the ref decided against giving it.

I agree McCormick is probably our best all round midfielder (and made a real impact), but I think he'll start the same team on Tuesday to keep things tight early on. Grant played well with Liddle alongside. McCormick will get forward more, so expect him to be an impact sub again. Really hope we can sign him. As much as Westbrooke deserved to be dropped, we do miss his set pieces.
