Wasn't the suggestion Ogogo was forced out as there were concerns over his fitness, PT brought him back and now he looks to have picked up a season (and Rovers?) ending injury, perhaps BG, or whoever advised him, made the correct decision as we're now left paying 100% of his wages for the the rest of the season. As far as Craig which one of us would have offered him a 2 year contract in the summer to match what Crawley were prepared to offer him? I assume Baldwin, who was captain once in his younger days, along with Ehmer were seen as Craig's replacement, not sure why BG thought Grant & Liddle could replace Ogogo/OC, upfront we've always looked one striker short. Craig may have and most likely would have taken 1 year with us over 2 years with them tho? But it’s only an issue in hind sight tbh. I was gutted to see him leave but I certainly didn’t see him as irreplaceable at the time I seem to remember hearing that his family had stayed in London when he was living in digs in Bristol. May well have been a factor in him not staying? People often forget players are human beings with families and assume they can just move here there and everywhere like when playing those silly football manager computer games!

I agree McCormick is probably our best all round midfielder (and made a real impact), but I think he'll start the same team on Tuesday to keep things tight early on. Grant played well with Liddle alongside. McCormick will get forward more, so expect him to be an impact sub again. Really hope we can sign him. As much as Westbrooke deserved to be dropped, we do miss his set pieces. Don't worry the way football is going we'll soon be allowed to bring on a set piece specialist ad hoc

If Mc cormick is fit then he needs to start. He’s got energy he gets stuck in and he plays the ball forwards. Our best midfielder this season. Totally agree, to an extent he was an impact sub today (Fleetwood weren't ready for him) but I’d start him as definitely got a lot of pace and skill.

I am clearly not neutral but both penalty shouts looked very strong to me. Don’t think Hanlan helps himself by hitting the deck at every opportunity, regardless of how much or little contact there is. Boy that cried wolf & all that.

Decent performance today, and we probably should have won. However let's not forget that Fleetwood have been poor recently, so I will judge if we've improved after we play our next match.
On another note, Luke McCormick is championship standard and we will be lucky to see him here next season.

I don’t agree about Liddle. He broke up play and covered on the transition well and I get that he is not as eye catching as McCormick, but played big part in our clean sheet. Agree, don't underestimate Liddles contribution out of possession, protected the back 4 very well and hasn't played for 10 weeks or so so obviously way short of match practice. Take in to account his performance against Darlington he will be ok better than some of the other players played in there this season to date.I would replace him with McCormick for Tuesday however as we need to win. I watched Liddle very closely and the first 15 minutes was almost entirely due to mistakes he made. His first 3-4 touches lost us the ball and started a break for them. I was almost laughing as it was the worst possible start for him. As the game progressed I saw a better player in there but as has been said, very short of match practice. What I saw today was actually much more effort from everyone and a team willing to play the percentages and retain shape. The freeform, total football has stopped and that’s a good thing. That’s been allowing teams to dick us over for weeks. League 1 is one of those leagues if you play the percentages, you get points. We have enough talent in the side to nick and odd goal. We are woeful in scoring goals at present but I believe this to be temporary. We just keep choking and also I feel we’ve been very u Unlucky not to score more in several games. Much of this was due to dallying on the ball in crucial moments. Not today, they looked willing to shoot. I think Tidsale is teaching them this isn’t U21 or training anymore. It’s not about quality and beauty, it’s about scoring one more goal than them. If you keep your shape they can’t score. If you play the ball to the forwards 10 times you’ll get 2 shots. If you get 10 shots you will score 1 goal. If you play the ball in triangles 25 yards from your own goal, one in ten times you’ll lose the ball and one in three of those leads to a goal. This was the difference today. It’s what’s been missing all year. Coughlan was the master of playing the percentages and if this team can master it, they have enough quality to win matches. Earn the right to play - I think we did that today and I think we were very unlucky not to Nick it. We had the better chances and 2 penalties chickened out by a weak and spineless homer ref.

Going by interviews with him on his leaving he didn’t seem to want to go, BG told him before the end of the season he wasn’t getting a contract so he moved on, doesn’t mean he still wouldn’t have gone for 2 years in Crawley of course, but personally I think he’d have stayed if we wanted him to

Been a critic of Leahy but he was very good today and seemed to be offering some proper leadership and encouragement which is great.

Until the defender used Hanlan's back as a step ladder, the ref gave him nothing today. If he's hitting the deck, it's under challenge - indeed he's had more opportunities to 'win' a free kick, but decides to keep on his feet.
Plenty of strikers in this division are far more canny.

Plenty of strikers in this division are far more canny. Hanlan’s hit the deck too easily all season IMO. At times he is getting fouled of course, but I also think he tries to buy too many freekicks at times instead of staying on his feet. The bloke needs some support really. I think he’d thrive next to a big man so he could focus on making runs in behind and stretching defences. Because he’s our only forward with any physicality (unless Ayunga plays) we end up trying to use him as a target man - which isn’t his game at all. He’s far better facing goal than he is trying to hold it up with a big CB breathing down his neck.

A decent effort today not great but a definite improvement on what happened earlier in the week. I think Daly can have an impact on the remainder of the season.

Going to be a hard watch this afternoon. Just getting stuck into the first of six San Miguel’s. If Rovers win I normally treat myself to a double Jameson’s on the rocks at the full time whistle. Let’s hope come 4:45pm that copper oily liquid is swirling around the ice presenting peaty aromas and leaving that unmatchable after taste. If we won a few more games you’d be in Rehab.

Ayunga could be that man.

Commentary slow and laborious? I tapped the wheel to see if there was a Rovers' commentary and got what sounded like a hospital broadcast. Very good actually, pro-Rovers without being biased and followed every movement just like a radio broadcast should. Seems like there's an automatic slow down mechanism whenever the commentator gets ahead of themselves.

It was an odd commentary as he sounded like he knew Fleetwood's players very well, are R Bristol getting local reporters to now do the away game commentaries, at least it was miles better than listening to the home commentary team.

I thought the pairing got better and better. If we are playing two DCMs in Grant and Liddle and two forwards in Hanlan and Daly is it not time to 442? Nicholson and McCormick on the left and right? Switching over at times and take it in turns to join the attack?
