Excited for this one, but also nervous as if we lose, we are in big big trouble!
I'm intrigued to see what selection and formation Joey goes with, as I've got no idea what his preference was for at Fleetwood.
Cautiously predict a 2-1 Gas win. UTG!

Yeah, Northampton and Rochdale playing each other, and very close for everyone else at the bottom. We've had a ridiculously long spell of losing matches but not actually dropping down the table much. That's bound to end soon.

Tougher game than some may be thinking..... I do think though with JB in charge and the bounce that’ll give, the generally improved performances over the last few games and players again stepping up and wanting to make sure that they’re in JBs teams and plans that we’ll win this one... an @marshy 3-1 special for me!
Will we see any changes to the team or formations? Think we might see Sammy and Ehmer back in for Harries and possibly Ayunga or Hanlan?
Think we’ll be 3-4-1-2 (I’m guessing he won’t want to change too much if he hasn’t got the right squad for a formation change) and it’ll be:
Day
Ehmer, Kilgour, Baldwin
Williams, Grant, McCormick, Leahy
Nicholson,
Hanlan or Ayunga, Daly
Here’s for a rocking iFollow watch! UTG! JB’s Blue & White Army!

Another team we have failed to beat this side of the millennium celebrations with our last victory back in 1998. 5 draws and 3 defeats in the time since.
Our rivalry started off well with 3 victories in our first 3 meetings in Division 3 after Wigan had been been promoted from the Conference and then into the 3rd tier
This included a 9-0 aggregate score in the very first season we occupied the same division and our overall record shows some very big victories

This aint gonna be easy folks , Wigan have shown they are up for the fight but i believe we will come out on top with another 3-1 win, even tougher one Sat against another once struggling side who must be near the top of the form tables, come on Rovers !

Looking forward to this one!
I would imagine he’ll bring in Upson to improve the midfield.
I would go for something like:
Day
Williams, Kilgour, Ehmer, Leahy
Grant, Upson, McCormick,
Nicholson,
Hanlan, Daly or Ayunga

Just a quick 'hats off' to Jonah. It's great to see him in so many of our line ups after being written off by so many including Tis. I was really wanting to see more of him knowing that the 'style' of our play was to pump it long more than a quick, crisp passing build up and he hasn't let me down. Fair play to the lad.

With just one day of training there is not much that can be achieved except create a positive vibe around the place.
Judging by his fleetwood teams he goes for a back four. That though may be down to the players he had. It could be he doesnt feel rovers have a strong enough squad for 4 at the back ??
A safe way to play would be to continue the formation the players are used to . However he like us will have seen the weaknesses in that.
4-4-2 Would be the most stable set up but not sure where westbrooke fits into that. Maybe 4-3-1-2.
Day
Leahy Harries Kilgour Williams
Nicholson Grant Westbrooke Mccormick
Daly Ayunga
Subs:upson ,ehmer , hanlan , hare , tutonda , oztumer , jvs .

We surrendered the midfield on Saturday with only two in there. Definitely need to find an extra man from somewhere.

You must surely be joking. Awful waste of space who adds very very little - the complete opposite of what is needed if we are to avoid relegation. Hopefully JB has sussed him out already.

If the players were confused as to their role on the pitch under Tisdale then they have to hope Barton keeps instructions simple. New manager bounce hopefully but all I can see is 3.1 Wigan then pick up in the next two/ three games after he has put his mark on HIS team.

With JB having proper footballing pedigree, understanding and appreciation of the game, I will genuinely be shocked if he doesn’t include Upson. I have to disagree with you, and say that Upson is definitely who we need if we’re going to stay up.

Absolutely no idea how we will line up, but we have to hope we get a new man bounce like we did against Pompey as this is a must win. I was very concerned with JB's appointment, and whilst success cant be guaranteed and whilst i worry we will get huge bad publicity at some point, I cant help but warm to him over the past 24hrs based on everything he has said. Fingers crossed it works out. I dreamt a 4-0 lead after 66 minutes last night but not one squad player was in the team so what does that help! Day Williams Kilgour Baldwin Leahy Grant McCormick Hanlon Nicholson Daly Ayunga

Nice to remember that day in 1990 against Wigan at Twerton as well. What a team, what a run!

With a Win, Draw, Loss the minimum requirement over a season we need 6 wins and 6 draws from the remaining 18 games.
This has got to be one of those Wins!

Be interesting to see if he plays with 3 centre halves. Post were saying he likes the potential of daly and Westbrook. Maybe another formation change if both of these are to be involved more I really hope he gets the best out of westbroke because there is a monster footballer in there.

In a game where we hopefully will have at least 50% possession, I think it’s time for Oz to shine. It’s been stop start for him but we’re so much better with him in there, despite him only showing it in flashes. From watching his Fleetwood team a lot, Joey likes proper footballers who can retain and dominate the ball.
Wouldn’t surprise me to see him partner Westbrooke with Grant and push Mc into a 3 with Oz and Nicholson. That combination has energy, legs and quality. Not sure we need two number 6’a in a must win game. We absolutely dominated them away from home.
I’m not expecting miracles overnight but I’m quietly confident of a result.
2-0 is my prediction.
