They can ban me if they like - we're all Gasheads, and we're all hacked off, we don't need tossers like that making it worse. To be fair Tilly those that didn't want Barton as manager were getting a lot of abuse earlier in the week/end of last week and may see it as some sort of vindication to their view. I am fuming and disgusted that Barton was given the job but the Gas are my team, I will still watch every game and support the team. I actually think Barton will eventually do a good job. I don't think anyone could keep us up but I do think he will bring us back after assembling his own team in the summer. I also think we have some very good technically gifted players, we just lack where it matters |

I'd make them all watch the Dagenham game including the celebrations afterwards. Show them the desire, passion, workrate and joy that they are about to undo. Well put. I’m not sure if they’ve got it in them to be honest but if they have then JB has an immense task on his hands on getting them to do it. If he keeps this squad in league 1 then he’ll be a Gas legend in my eyes. I think the players have ability but it’s as if when TW and Garner built this side ability is literally all they looked at. There’s no balance no fight no leadership it’s a tough task to instil that because it’s not really something you can teach in just a few weeks. If we go down this season then the players in this squad will have learned a hard lesson that will probably put them in good stead with more experience for future seasons in their careers but that’s not f**king helping us this season. The mistake was made over 13 months ago when a 38 year old wimp with no managerial experience was given licence to dismantle a strong squad of players with leadership and battling qualities and turn it in to a squad full of wimps. What really gets me is that so many of our fans or at least the ones on here thought it was a good idea. |

It's time for the mods to take a stance and if he does it again on Saturday then ban him for good before things get out of hand. |

Hoping for a storming start and the lads are really up for this one , Wigan have taken a few tankings this season. That’s why ( optimistically!) I’ve put £10 at 50/1 on a 4-0 win. Up the bloody Gas ! So close ........ Ha ha, my bets weren't too clever either! |

I think we deserved a point tonight but not much more.
Barton fell into the same mistake as Garner and Tis playing Upson and Grant together. That just doesn’t work. We were so much better when Westbrooke came on.
I was impressed with Barton tonight from the sides. It was great to have a manager change things early in the game too not waiting until 80 mins to make a change.
But the same problems remain. We can’t defend set pieces. We got nothing in the box experienced enough to know when to make that killer run, react quicker, see the rebound 2 seconds quicker than an opposition defender.
If there are any free agents out there, and Barton can pull one or two in he needs to do it quickly because these games are evaporating rather quickly.

Maybe Barton has a vision that will work with the club. Rovers are a bit weak structurally and garner & tisdale highlighted that.
I'd say coughlan had his vision that worked well for the team against the odds, but it was astonishing dull.
Interested to see what Barton will do, saving us from relegation under the circumstances tho... A tough ask for any manager.

Even though that was a massive kick in balls tonight I liked what I saw from JB not scared to change things around and also not settling for 1 point and bringing on attacking players to try and nick it. The only criticism I would say is 5 subs probably went against us as we were in the middle of a decent spell and the flow seemed to stop when he bought the 3 on but at least he wasn't scared to have ago,it reminds me a bit of DC who never liked draws and was a positive person.
We go again and fingers crossed JB can turn this around but it's going to be a bumpy ride.

He will have my support, only two people responsible for this shambles Ben Garner and Tommy Widdrington. Only two people? Did they employ themselves and decide to implement the let’s build a pretty under 23 premier league team project all on their own? Well add Darrell Clarke to that for bringing in his mate from Coventry (TW) who he knew from his Salisbury days and Wael and Hamer if you want to go back that far for allowing it. As regards Ben Garner I suppose we have to blame Pirate( no offence meant) and Starmes, Wael and Widdrington. I think that just about covers it. |

Happily though I think the appointment of Barton suggests that the Garnerball experiment is well and truly in the bin. Barton will build us a team of players who have guts and guile as well as ability. He wouldn’t be here if he couldn’t because that’s why he left Fleetwood. |

A team in our league position that keeps conceding silly goals at one end and struggles to create anything at the other end is going to end up relegated. I think JB is a good manager but I’m not convinced he can perform the miracle we need. Depressing night made worse by another forum member (I almost said fan but that would be wrong) who seems to be revelling in tonight’s result. I’m not sure whether to turn to god or drink. Have I few drinks mate I'm feeling better already after a couple or three. |
