Burton Albion vs. Bristol Rovers - Westy's Matchday Thread

We won our last game and totally dominated for 92 minutes. We were doing really again well tonight and in no trouble until McCormick made a stupid decision to kick the ball away. Refs at this level are poor and inconsistent - even more reason not to give them a decision to make and McCormick fell into the trap. It’s frustrating watching teams block quick free kicks and time waste every week but they are far more subtle about it - McCormick was way too blatant when kicking the ball away and he’ll learn from it.
Someone said earlier perhaps he should have been taken off because he was on a yellow but it was only a week or two ago he was applauded for a mature, man of the match performance after picking up a booking in the first 5 minutes.
Its a great shame as a minimum of a point or possibly 3 were there for the taking tonight. 

Gross stupidity by McCormick. There can be no excuse for it.

The one bit of quality won them the game, but overall Burton were poor and we weren’t much better. We had a couple of chances in the first half but considering how bad they were we really should have done better overall.

I’ve got a very bad feeling about this season. I hope I’m wrong but I fear the worst.

The young Chelski must have spoken a hard insult to ref so no more pleaae Linos and officials are your friend

Must say, we were poor 2nd half against a very poor side, the ref was a belter really , just can’t understand how poor these guys are, and keep getting games, they took about 2 mins every goal kick , throw in , fee kick, yet sends are guy off for doing exactly what they were doing all game, also every free kick we had they stood over the ball, they are all bad in this league but think he takes top spot, never the less for the 18 mins of play the 2nd half lasted we were as bad as he was

Except, if the ref had been consistent, the game would have continued and no one would have ever mentioned it again. You can't play the game like the ref's a lady garden.

Can't argue that! Only positive I'm taking is that I don't have to worry about starting another one 😖🤐😅

Other than that, absolutely fuming at the refereeing tonight!!!

But it was a must win game. People said so, and therefore it is Gaschat fact.

Shame about Dons late equaliser at Shrewsbury, which gives them a game in hand. Still plenty to play for though. The sending off killed our hopes of a point, but it's miles off being a crisis. A problem, definitely, but not too late.
