We have thrown away 6 points in a week and came close to doing similarly v Shrewsbury and yet in all 3 games we have played well. We are continuing to miss chances with little sign that we will score enough to make a difference. Our recruitment last Summer was unforgivable in the extreme and we are paying 2 ex Managers for their incompetence. It could be 3 by the summer at this rate, I wonder how much extra we've spent on managers/coaches etc in the last year than if we employed an experienced manager to replace GC and paid for a decent replacements for JCH & Nichols/Reilly last summer? |

Another frustrating night.
We create a few chances, can't convert them (we all know why, scratched record) and let a sloppy goal in and cling on for the lose.
Nickers clear through. Brandon clear through. Leahy shot. Rodders at the death. No goals.....we are paying the price for our failure to sign an experienced striker at this level and haven't replaced JCH.
Smith only has one foot....as fast as he is, you got to coerce him and his like away from goal, not inside so he can shoot unblocked. Goal.
Slow and lethargic again in possession, no forward movement, no runs. They played offside first half, but Leahy hardly got forward second. After sending off it looked like they had more players on the pitch than us!? How many times is it opposite when we play v 10?
McCormick.....ok, the ref was awful. Inconsistent all night. But you don't give him the opportunity to book you....Luke did and through naivity of youth perhaps cost us the game. We looked broken after that. He'll serve a ban too. Arguably without our best player.....the ref softly books our player to sending off and not theirs.....things haven't been going for us for a while and the one step forward and three steps back is gonna put us in Division 4 and the slide continues....
Poor, tonight.
We are a better team than them and played the football first half.
But, yet again we are masters of our own destiny and conspired to beat ourselves. Individual and collective errors are costing us matches and we can't find a way out of it..
Wigan and Burton are two nails (in coffin) where we can't find a win in those 4 fixtures. Yet, we've been the best performing team in all those games!
Crazy times, indeed...

Gross stupidity by McCormick. There can be no excuse for it. The one bit of quality won them the game, but overall Burton were poor and we weren’t much better. We had a couple of chances in the first half but considering how bad they were we really should have done better overall. I’ve got a very bad feeling about this season. I hope I’m wrong but I fear the worst. Your bang on they had that bit of quality in attack and it's what we lack. Teams soak up all our possesion and hit us with that one bit of quality because that's all it takes to win a game. |

We’re going down I’m afraid (in my opinion) we simply do not have the quality at either end of the pitch , yes we dominated large parts of the game and the ref was an utter joke but the same issues keep arising , we simply do not take our chances and we always concede , This isn’t a rant aimed at Barton as I think it’s a very good appointment and it’s not a personal attack on our players , As a collective we are just not good enough and I can’t see where the wins and goals required to stay up are going to come from. Sorry for the negativity but I can’t see any way of us escaping the drop , No manager that inherits this squad could keep us up. Still , UTG

It's one thing to try something and fail but then to do nothing about it is ridiculous. |

Meldrew has bought it upon himself and deserves everything he gets. Even the normally mild mannered Tilly blew a gasket in a previous match day thread following similar goading after a defeat. Plenty disagreed with JB’s appointment and their view was largely respected, Meldrew decided to arrogantly question the integrity of those who chose not to follow his moral superiority and cancel their season tickets. (Btw he was clearly bullshitting on that and has given no proof). |

Joe please learn that being a manager is totally different to being a supporter. I wanted the ref to die in the 90 mins. Obvs now thats stupid best wishes to him and family But niceness is a power of flattery. Think they sent our boy off to send a message. You can be one of the greats like Cloughie who always backed the ref, so the ref had to back him Seriously you wanted the ref to die. That is extreme and not something you should be sharing on here. |
