We had a penalty and then Upson's scores with a shot that gets saved nine times out of ten, For once we got some luck and all we had to do was keep it tight. The fact we can't defend a two nil lead and we concede so many late goals is why we are where we are.

Idk why the Rovers coaches let him get away with it. It's embarrassing. Someone needs to tell him to stay on his feet, he's not all that bad when he does. I know he's not 100% fit but he's been poor recently. Hanlan's being constantly sniped from the back, not falling over. But agree if he is getting nothing then maybe not play him He falls over from any challenge, I can't recall once thinking why isn't the ref giving us a foul, I'm pretty sure he wasn't doing it earlier in the season.

Supposition. The fact is we lost by one goal which was an individual mistake. Haha this isn't court. Charlton were much better in the second half, and we looked tactically inferior. Perhaps being under enough pressure a mistake is inevitable? A poor decision from a player that has been out of form for a while now and made other individual mistakes.

Let's put some positives on this:
1. We scored and looked threatening 2. Wigan and Wimbledon drew 3. Fleetwood beating Ipswich and Swindon play them on sat 4. The others in the zone also have tough games 5. WE STILL AREN'T IN THE ZONE 😊

Our midfield was awful tonight, Upson, Westbrooke and McCormick were all poor. Sadly they are neither strong enough or quick enough and when we play with these formations the central midfield pair haven't really got much hope. What really frustrates me about us is the number of times we lose the ball because no one actually talks to a team mate - they are behind you!! Sounds stupid I know but this side is bereft of any communication or leadership, technical ability in a relegation scrap won't get you enough points.

Next 7 days is huge. We MUST get 4/6 points. Swindon win would make a massive difference. Or a win at Plymouth who've now lost 5 on the bounce? Let's just hope Nicholson is fit plus Grant and, possibly, Rodman might be fit?

Yes but if he jumps into him, doesn’t win it and takes him out in the process, it’s a clear foul. Do you think a Defender would of been sent off for the same challenge? I don't think so. It seems that Referees make up new rules for Goalkeepers, they give Free kicks for them for nothing, but also send them off like tonight for a nothing challenge. I do find it bizarre. You see defenders get sent off for pretty tame fouls if its obvious that they’re attempting to prevent a certain goalscoring opportunity. So yes I do. Let’s be honest, if their guy isn’t wiped out he’s heading it past day, getting on the rebound and scoring it an empty net. It’s not about the strength of the challenge but the context. Feel sorry for Day as I said but I’m not going to defend him just because he’s a Rovers player.

On a positive note, I've gotten through a lot of scotch on a Tuesday night this season.

Hugely disappointing result after the way we played first half, 2nd half we stopped doing the things we'd done so well and eventually got punished. Calamitous goal once again cost us although looking at the replay I wasnt sure if it was Kilgour or their player that headed the ball, if it was their guy the goalscorer had to be offside. Really not sure why Little came on ahead of Ehmer our subs definitely weakened us although I'd have brought Daly on for Hanlan a lot earlier. Massively important we take at least 4 points from next two games, both Plymouth & Swindon on very poor runs but we all know Rovers are experts at ending those.

Supposition. The fact is we lost by one goal which was an individual mistake. Problem is we could all see we were going to concede hence Barton brought on Little and changed the formation, but for some reason whenever he does that we then concede a goal whilst the players are getting their heads around the changes. I just don't get what manager's see in Little as he always seems a yard or two off the pace to me. I think Little is a total waste of time , gets in the side - performs badly - gets injured - out for a while - repeat.

If I’d not watched the game and just saw the score with both sides having had four shots on target I’d have thought we’d given it a good go - especially since it’s one of the leagues worst teams going away to a side pushing for promotion with the best attacking options in the division. But having watched us deservedly go two up but go on to lose is very dispiriting.
The ref was generally poor, gave them the benefit of the doubt on most 50/50 decisions but on the big decisions he was right. He gave us the penalty in the first half and he was spot on with Days red card. Two players attacking a 50/50 ball, they were bound to collide and whoever got the ball first was going to win the free kick. Unfortunately, Day was second and the ref had no choice but to send him off as the striker would have been through on goal with nobody to beat. Hopefully just a one match ban? He’s made some important and brave saves recently and is far better and far more experienced than JVS. Beaten by two quality strikes and let down by his defence for the third. If he was poorly positioned for the free kick then every keeper in professional football around the world is wrong too.
I don’t think we sat back second half. Both in regard to league position and quality of players Charlton would be expected to dominate. We gave them a right scare first half and they were always going to up their game, it was more their doing than ours that we ended up so deep and penned in second half. Just a shame we couldn’t hold out for a point and the usual stupid defensive mistake, this time by Kilgour, has cost us.
Still hopeful of staying up though. UTG.

If anyone is at fault for the 3rd it was whoever runs back with their striker (Baldwin maybe?). Completely stops and lets him in for the chance after their striker out jumps Kilgour.

Your right first half of the season he ran well with the ball beat defenders and only went down when fouled and won us free kicks penalties and scored 8 goals. Second half of the season he’s spent most of it on his arse and scored one goal.

Hanlan & McCormick were a waste of a shirt this evening, truly awful showings. This was a collapse that was befitting of our league position and form the last 18months. I am extremely worried.

Because your first line suggests he meant to foul him... I'd need to see it again, but the ball looked like it had gone miles away from him - something referees also take into account usually. Personally I don't feel sorry for Day in the slightest, he's just simply not good enough. I feel sorry for us for having to pay his wages to make mistakes week in week out and come the end of the season he can go back to Cardiff or sign wherever without an issues, whilst we're potentially in L2.

Or do they get away scot-free because they didn't make THE mistake. I don't think we're going to agree. I just think an expectation that if Alfie hadn't made that mistake we would have been ok is naive and doesn't look at the wider issues.

We’re a soft team that is nervous without the ball and the only fighter we’ve got is a young kid on loan from Chelsea who’s been brilliant in his application and determination whether he’s having a good game or not. That just goes to show how Badly we’re lacking leadership in the core of our team.
