2 mens to blame for this and that's Garner and Widdrington getting players that are not league 1 standard Tisdale was in charge in January when he could have righted the summer wrongs. Although BG and TW were clearly working to Wael's/MS' "vision" anyway. JCH's goals look likely to take Posh to the Championship, our lack of spending likely to take us to L2. History sadly repeating itself at Rovers after we sell on top goal scorer and just bank the profits.

Did we deserve to win no not really, so disappointed kept saying to my boy we need another goal, Ayunga needed to get a shot away when one on one, but disappointed jaak didn't stay in the middle for the pen so many players go down the middle when the pressures on.
Think we need to win all our home games now, hope fading a little, over the season we have been poor, can t score and can t keep clean sheets.

Poor in all areas its a miracle we even have a slim chance of escaping

Peterbrough pulled our pants down. They got £5M plus future add ons for Toney. JCH has already scored more goals for Posh than Toney did in the whole of last season.

I’m going to look at the positives. We didn’t loose. We may go down but we at least we have put up more of a fight in the last two games and have come away with four points. Northampton have a good home record and we’ve stopped the rot of loosing to our rivals. I believe we can win at least two of the three home games. Will it be enough? Probably not. Realistically we need to win all three of the home games and pick up at least one extra point from the two remaining away games.

Although Toney is younger they got substantially more for him than we did for JCH when they both had the same time left on their contracts. Ive always said id have kept JCH and risked losing him for nowt in the summer. Didn't do Posh any harm with Dembele..

The only way it becomes a good deal is if our 20 percent sell on nets us a few quid in a 6-8 million sale? We could almost do with them not going up? Either way though yes our customary pant pulling took place with him!!

Mick Mills predicted that when we sold JCH Bristol Rovers would be relegated he is going to be proved right

We accept the first bid we receive for any of our star players. Other teams know this as well. Unlike Peterborough who play tough ball and get at least five times the amount for their players.

Is it me or are both Hanlan & Ayunga bloody awful? I don’t think I’ve ever seen two big lads up front get bullied so easily as those two. To be fair only Leahy had a good game today we were so poor and Northampton were too it could be argued that both deserved to lose.

Feels like a loss and 2 points gifted away to our relegation rivals by a combination of our own lack of football ability and an extremely poor referee who bought Northampton's play acting throughout the entire game. The stats say we committed 23 fouls, 23, really???! I will watch the replay back for the pen decision but my view of it during the game was that our player was shoved to the floor before their player was tripped which is surely not a pen. That said you have to question why one of our centre backs is so easily out muscled in that situation. Although it feels like we have been on the wrong end of a lot of officiating decisions yet again today I think some of our players just aren't tough or savvy enough to compete with the likes of Northampton's more streetwise squad. I'm not paying respect to the cheating bast*rds for that but imo it's that lack of experience in our very young squad that is making the difference and costing us points. Baldwin was Posh's captain at 19 and also played for Sunderland, unlike Harries, he's not just started playing senior football, he should know the game as well as most pros. Last week it was a silly slip costing us a goal, now this week he's muscled off the ball. Fair point re: Baldwin but my point still stands re: our team not being streetwise enough to compete with the likes of Northampton in terms of gamesmanship

The four teams to go down for me Rochdale Northampton Swindle and the Gas NAHHHH we will win the next 2. Lose to Pompey. Stuff Crewe and then remarkably beat Blackpool who are by then saving their players for the play offs. Anyone fancy driving up ??

Gutted. Feels like a defeat today but we were poor and hardly deserved the 3 points.
Toothless up front and unable to to overcome a poor Northampton side.
The big worry is that Wimbledon and Wigan seem to have got their act together and look likely to survive based on their results today.

Scrappy game but if you look at Northampton's recent home matches you'll see they are all tight affairs with very few goals. The way Northampton play means most games are going to pan out that way. I think it's the main reason Ayunga got the nod ahead of Walker today. Northampton are a very physical side that score a lot of goals from set pieces. If it wasn't for the penalty I think we'd be saying we did pretty well. Got our noses in front and other than the penalty Jaakkola had nothing to do; they only had one other shot on target. I think we deserved the win but yet again one silly mistake has cost us. Unfortunately with Wigan and Wimbledon having confidence boosting big wins away from home I don't think one point today is enough. Wimbledon and Wigan now hot favourites to stay up in my opinion. Both have winnable fixtures to come. Yeah they’d won four out of their last five at home so we did better than four of those five clubs today. Two home games coming up now minimum of four points needed probably to keep us fighting.

Better sides would have buried them playing like that.

To be fair only Leahy had a good game today we were so poor and Northampton were too it could be argued that both deserved to lose. Our front two are so easy to play against, crowd them out and they will lose it I am afraid they don't look like scoring. I honestly thought after those two goals against Pompey that Jonah would go on to another level, but it's a backwards one and so very disappointing. JB bemoans the defensive mistakes but he does nothing to change our fortunes up front?
