I think Wael is too easily impressed and takes too much on trust. Someone tells a good story and dear old Wael seems to buy into it all and off the club goes in another direction. We've seen chairmen, directors, consultants, managers, coaches etc come and go. All are wonderful till they are not.
Next season is a make or break one. If his trust in Joey and the encourage comes good fine but if not I just don't know what happens...well I guess it's back to Tommy again if he survives the summer.

Another pointless thread yet more Barton bashing I do despair I guess Barton just divides the fanbase. I guess a lot don't worry about whose managing the club as long as it does OK. Another group seem starstruck by him and another group just don't want him at the club. The bashing does no good but neither does blind faith in someone who has achieve nothing at the club so far. We are where we are... It will be interesting to look back in a year or two.

Forums tend to feature disagreeable and opinionated people. That isn’t a criticism, I am one of them.

Only time will tell, although I am definitely prepared to give Joey a chance, surely he will do better than the visionary Garner, and or "I cannot work miracles" Tisdale. Surely, hmm.

This isn’t meant to be another bash Joey thread so bare with me. Does anyone else find it really odd that as a club we have given a man who has struggled to win a game as manager complete autonomy over so much of the club? From appointing directors to sacking our medical and sports science staff and operating outside of our recruitment structure. This isnt a manager with a proven track record its a big name ex player with a couple of seasons under his belt as a manager. On top of all of this is the court case his questionable temperament and our precarious position in the league. It all just feels a completely odd way of going about things and if this goes wrong we really are in the sh**. He clearly deserves a longer go as manager but all our eggs in the Joey basket is likely to result in pain down the line. If this goes tits up we are going to look incredibly silly. I think after a lifetime of following football you get to realise no one really knows what they’re doing. Its generally down to pot luck and money. I wouldn’t worry about it too much there will be another grand plan along in another couple of years. I guess the GC/JCH period supports that view? Perhaps JB can unearth another JCH or two.

I thought it was about minor tactical things like having a high line at the back and playing wingers.

Happy for him to have a chance but having a fairly new manager who has barely won a game for us since arriving be given the level of authority over non playing matters is completely unusual. The ability to hire and fire medical and fitness staff and bring his friends onto the board. That is the point of the thread thats been lost amongst the yawns and accusations of not backing him.

Wasn't DC given similar control? Isn't that how football management works they all bring in their own staff? I can't see JB brought Gibson (who's not a friend?) on to the board, that had to be Wael's own choice.

Im not sure DC was hiring and firing the medical department and putting his mates on the board after his first period at the club.

Where's the proof JB made Gibson a board member just because he introduce him to Wael doesn't mean he then made him a board member? Your just repeating the type of nonsense spouted on the other forum. Regardless the proof will be in the pudding, if JB's a success nobody will worry who he's brought in to assist him.
