What is this 'blind faith' people keep harping on about? I'm surprised you haven't heard this phrase before. Here is a definition: "unquestioning belief in something, even when it's unreasonable or wrong" So, I think what they are saying is that some people have a hunch that JB will come good. Its not based on anything apart from his name and a season and a half at Fleetwood. The last bit "even when it's unreasonable or wrong" could be said that last season proves this to be blind faith as an argument could be made that survival was in our own hands when JB took over but he couldn't turn it around. In fact he has the worse record of all three managers in the season with 40% of games in charge. Look, I get it. I do understand what people see in him. He is taking a populist approach to football. I just hope he gets it right. It's a shame that the court case stopped this week. It would have been a good opportunity for the past to be put behind and for us all to move forward. While there is this negativity going on it is only reminding supporters that JB has been proved to be a Thug, even serving jail time I believe. So, give him the rope to hang himself there can only be two outcomes: 1) Boy done good 2) Boy done not so good The interesting question is when do we draw that line? And how do we define that line? Top 10? Mid Table? Survival? October November December Or sooner?

I guess Barton just divides the fanbase. I guess a lot don't worry about whose managing the club as long as it does OK. Another group seem starstruck by him and another group just don't want him at the club. The bashing does no good but neither does blind faith in someone who has achieve nothing at the club so far. We are where we are... It will be interesting to look back in a year or two. I think in the wider fan base it’s probably 85% at least want Barton. Forums tend to feature disagreeable and opinionated people. That isn’t a criticism, I am one of them. I read an interesting stat the other day. It said that 85% of statistics were made up on the spot... I think 60% accepted JB to begin with and I think since his performances, this has dropped.

Hi to note this isnt an anti JB thread. Happy for him to have a chance but having a fairly new manager who has barely won a game for us since arriving be given the level of authority over non playing matters is completely unusual. The ability to hire and fire medical and fitness staff and bring his friends onto the board. That is the point of the thread thats been lost amongst the yawns and accusations of not backing him. The OP of this thread knows how to raise genuine questions and concerns without having to resort to playground nonsense. I think his concerns are worthy of consideration.

With Chris Gibson joining the board it is clear that JB position at the club has been strengthened with an alie on the board. It asks the question whether Widdrington position has been weakened and what his long term future is at the club. What ever the outcome of the court case, with JB in a stronger position it looks like he is here for the long term whether you like it or not.

Yes, it's certainly an unusual situation and goes against the received wisdom of 'not putting your eggs in one basket'.
