I was The King of Wessex on 606 and Not606. Aaaahhh - right! I wonder what happened to CJS? And King Harolds Nose, The Arrow in his Eye and all the rest? Someone calling themselves Captain Jack Sparrow texts into Radio Bristol now and then and I think it's the same chap. Just checked and he is still active on not606 as recently as yesterday. I've not posted on there in decades though. Edit: oldtimer, bluebaldee and MassiveAttack are also still active on not606 |

I don't remember exactly when I joined the old forum, but I believe it was around 2006ish sort of time, maybe earlier. I remember William Bloke, igoe4 and Angas and such like. Like others, I really appreciate Gaschat and have spent an unholy number of hours wasting time on here! Feels like a dysfunctional family of folk I've never met. It's nice to talk random sh**e with a bunch of people also mad enough to be Gasheads like me! If you have ever been to an FFSC sponsored game, you would have found how right your dysfunctional family of folk comment is. Apologies in advance to those I am referring to. We are all normal. It's you that's the weirdo! |

Been on here for 2 years almost exactly. Tbh, been a computer geek since being a teenager in the 90's and there wasn't really anybody else using forums. Then I got bored of the forums I did frequent, and many moons later decided I wanted to immerse myself more in the gas, and noticed everything I've missed over the last couple of decades! 😯

Yes! All a great bunch of lads. Arrow especially. Wrote a very comical song about City playing in North Somerset when their new ground was being planned pre Ashton refurb. Wonder where they are now? Yep, I wonder. What about Ras - remember him? Wasn't he had up for fiddling with snakes? |

Joined this place in May 2015, don't think I registered with any of the predecessors although I did enjoy reading them. Can't get to games much these days so this is my go-to place for Rovers' news.
Probably (no, "actually" that should read😳) spend too much time on here for my own good.

Remember some old forum members Road an, Ras, South Stand Ultra, Twerton Boy, Joey B. Sure there are loads more.
Ras wanted me over here actually (assumingly because of my box office qualities).

I've never been very good at social interaction so I've never posted much, but been reading Rovers forums since 2005. You don't seem to see many posters from that era on here these days: Steve Slade, William Bloke, the mad Welsh lady with dogs who's name I've forgotten etc. Anyone on here from that era, any other good memories people want to share? Sorry if it offends but do think the forum was better back in those days. I can’t be sure of the year but it was when we had an official club forum and around 2 years before it closed down. I really enjoyed posting there and it started the FFSC with Jon the Stripe running it. Got closed down around the time of the Wycombe away victory, where most thought we would be safe. We had BSS post that there were legal implications but he would try to get Jon a list. My memory of it was that it left a big hole as I used to post much more often and have much more time. These places may have some arguments but , if you are in hospital, it’s a god send. I’m much more of a lurker than poster now though. I do feel we lost something in the closure though. I will have to look up not 606 as I have heard of it but never searched it out |

The first paragraph or so talks about certain damaging threads on the forum leading to it being shutdown. The leading player in the shananagins had his contract terminated before the end of the season with no reason given. Definately a case of no smoke without fire and sweeping the problem under the carpet. Higgs obviously did not like what went on becoming public under his watch and when relegation followed shortly after saw the opportunity to silence the disgruntled fanbase who knew what a shambles the dressing room had become under a weak John Ward, before he had to stepdown and hand DC the reins. |
