So the west support a Ukraine coup in Feb 2014, Russia anex Crimea in march 2014... Series of antagonisms from Ukraine on russian neighbors. Now a pathetic war and people being killed. All in the name of money & power, oil & gas. That a fair summation? No.

Well It is relevant that Azov’s young founder and first military commander Andriy Biletsky was a lawmaker in the Ukrainian parliament. According to The Telegraph, Biletsky in 2014 wrote that “the historic mission of our nation in this critical moment is to lead the white races of the world in a final crusade for their survival. A crusade against the Semite-led untermenschen.”
The Azov Battalion uses the Nazi Wolfsangel symbol as its logo is just one of several far-right militias that have been integrated as units of Ukraine’s National Guard.
From the book 'Western Mainstream Media and the Ukraine Crisis: A Study in Conflict Propaganda'...
Never said it wasn't relevant, but while Putin and Russia use it as evidence, ask yourself this. Why would Ukraine vote for a Jewish President and why would Israel supply arms to Neo-Nazis? Especially as they need to keep Russia onside over Syria. Why would the articles you post rely soley on the author's opinion or mistitled photos without primary evidence? Keep an eye on the bigger picture, don't concentrate on one issue at the expense of others, otherwise St Petersburg's finest will have won. Have a lovely Sunday, Wes. Israel: A model for the far right White supremacists, anti-Semites, neo-Nazis and religious fundamentalists find inspiration, and support, in Tel Aviv. www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2020/1/2/israel-a-model-for-the-far-rightAvigdor Lieberman has been accused of being a KGB (now FSB) Agent. It was the then Israeli defense minister Avigdor Lieberman who met with the Ukranian prime minister at the time to discuss deeper military ties. I wouldn't rule out him agreeing to cooperation as a pretext for military action. Worth pointing out that the 1999 Russian apartment bombings were a false-flag operation (to be blamed on Chechens) carried out by the Russian FSB security agency which led to subsequent Chechen War and Putin's rise to power. The Lehi, or 'Stern Gang', proposed intervening in the Second World War on the side of Nazi Germany in part to offer their assistance in "evacuating" the Jews of Europe. Perhaps a similar ideology is in play? “the anti-Semites will become our most dependable friends, the anti-Semitic countries our allies.” - Theodore Herzl Thousands of Ukrainians inquire about moving to Israel, Jewish Agency says www.timesofisrael.com/thousands-of-ukrainians-inquire-about-moving-to-israel-jewish-agency-official-says/As always, I will keep an eye on the bigger picture and an open mind. My thoughts and best wishes go to the ordinary Ukranian people. You have a lovely Sunday too.

Looks like Vlad is getting frustrated, Belarus will hold a referendum on basing Russian nuclear missiles and Russia is increasing it's nuclear posture. I suspect that this is a reminder to Ukraine's suppliers and backers and to concentrate minds. Perhaps he is mad, or is that MAD?
Still, peace talks on the Ukrainian-Belarus border. Very brave people going to that, wonder what security guarantees they've got.

Next 3/4 days will be crucial, I think. If no progress is made soon then Vlad will up the violence no doubt, but if Ukraine can hold on past that, there might just be a chance. For me the question is at what cost does he want to win? If Kyiv/Ukraine is destroyed, is it worth anything to him?

Obviously Ukraine is being used as a pawn in a power struggle. You can see that much?

Is he stupid / mad enough to go for the nuclear option?

All EU countries announce they will let in Ukrainian citizens without asking for asylum first, for the next 3 years.
Your move, Boris

Just seen Kyiv is completely surrounded on every side/road now. Not looking good " Not long ago, we reported that Kyiv's mayor had told Associated Press that his city was "encircled" by Russian forces.
Now Vitali Klitschko is saying that is not the case, and it is in fact "disinformation".
Writing on the Telegram messaging app, he said: "Russian internet publications spread information with reference to me that Kyiv is allegedly surrounded and evacuation of people is impossible.
"Do not believe lies! Trust information only from official sources", he said.
As ever, the situation remains fluid.
A curfew remains in place in the capital, with many residents taking cover in basements and underground stations." -- So I originally took the news from BBC and the above it also from the BBC - just shows how strong misinformation is that even the BBC fell for it

I think the nuclear alert was a warning to the West not to interfere, rather than any threat to use nukes in Ukraine.

BP pulling out of Rosneft, that is a biggie and the financial markets open tomorrow with the Ruble tanking.
I think this has to be concluded inside the next 3 or 4 days otherwise Putin himself is in trouble. It really wouldn't surprise me to see a coup of some sort.
Dangerous times.

He’s got an inner circle of about 4 people apparently, then various outer circles. It’s needs someone in that inner circle to turn on him. Money always talks though…..
