Oldham Athletic Club Statement"Oldham Athletic is carrying out an investigation on the pitch invasion that occurred in the last home fixture against Salford City.
The Club will again liaise with Greater Manchester Police and efforts are being made to identify those who encroached onto the pitch which is a serious criminal offence.
Several persons have already been identified and it is almost certain when appropriate club bans will be issued." Talk about kicking them when they're down. (No pun intended)

Anyone that lives in Yate or definitely Sodbury and everywhere between there and Nailsworth their two nearest professional clubs are Rovers and FGR. So yes it’s a derby for a lot of our fans. Fair enough, it doesn't stir the emotions for me in the way a game against City or Swindon does.

The reason I called them bristol fans was not to confuse as both teams are rovers.it was used back in the day in the old division.2 when we played Blackburn both rovers and both blue so no it's not something new.

Not easily shocked or offended, thought the whole thing both cringeworthy and funny, been to too many football matches both professional and at kids level to be shocked by anything that happens in football! Home now and apart from reading about it on here its all forgotten about! Invading the pitch seems to pale into insignificance along side one country invading another! I agree, it was nothing and the majority who went on the pitch behaved themselves. Fans have been running on pitches at this time of the season for decades. Take the passion out of football and football will become sterile. I’ve seen much worse todays end of match situation was like a tea party people need to lighten up and enjoy themselves. Oh and congratulations to Forest Green top of the league all season and a very deserved point today with promotion too👏 Well we made the play offs yesterday, haven’t won promotion yet and some of our fans invaded the pitch to celebrate. Interesting that this is the first post in here since yesterdays game. Football supporters follow different clubs but we’re all all passionate about our clubs aren’t we.

Can't condone going on to the pitch and I wish fans would exercise constraint, but it is an emotive game and some situations get the better of people. There is a minority of our fan base that needs to learn to respect the opposition fans right to celebrate though. After all we want the same.

Let’s just hope it’s not too premature. I remember the Wycombe pitch invasion

It was but easy to say with the benefit of hindsight. It looked a big win that looked pretty certain to keep us up at the time against a rival club who we hated.

Issue for me last week was more the aggro from our supporters. From the sounds of it there was none yesterday.
Also, we didn’t impact the pitch of a team who still have something to fight for but a pitch that isn’t going to see any more competitive action until august.
We might not make the autos but we did confirm the playoffs which is pretty substantial after the start to our season.

At least the Forest Green Rovers morons waited until the game had finished. Our morons did not.

I just do not understand why some on a here get so regularly upset over supporters celebrating on the pitch, if you were there yesterday, hmm, then I guess many of those moaning were not, it was very hard under the circumstances of that match not to celebrate particularly third and certainly the fourth goal. In the heat of the moment no one caused any aggression, it was just unadulterated joy and relief. Time for some to chill out, after all its okay with the local constabulary, for some to rip down a statue in the middle of Bristol, roll it along St Augustine's Parade, into the harbourside.

Have to agree even if I am in the minority perhaps? I have seen in recent days a quote along the lines of entering the pitch is a serious crime, really! Two months ago two young lads drove a stolen car into my road a 20 mph zone, two eye witnesses both estimated the car to be drive at 40mph or more, constant acceleration from turning into the road until impact hitting a car travelling in the opposite direction before hitting my van with such force it moved it a full van length from parked position, the two lads miraculously got out of the stolen car and ran off, my 2 year old van was deemed a write off, cost my insurance company £20,000 my insurance has risen from £360 pa to just under £1000, that's just my vehicle, the road is a school road, it was a minor miracle no-one was seriously injured of killed, the lads probably never to be seen again, there appears to be no deterrent and the police seem to have very little interest in it (which I can partly understand if there is no evidence to find) perhaps they are to busy dealing with serious incidents such as entering a football pitch? I will never believe going onto the pitch is anything other than a minor misdemeanor especially so if good natured, of course it can lead to an escalation of trouble, but then again you can get that any weekend night in town just by minding your own business!

Good post. I've had a similar experience when my car was broken into with multiple items stolen. They gave me a crime ref no and I was even told on the phone that it is the last I am likely to hear from them. Pathetic. It seems like unless it's an easy win these days they are not interested.
