Really? He was fouled twice! Slight nudge from one player and the other player hooked his foot around the ball in the tackle. All over now , Sunderland get second goal.

I just can't get past 2014 with Mansfield. They beat us on the final day, so we were relegated from the league Northampton avoided relegation by winning and Scunthorpe were promoted to league one. It's funny how these things come back around 8 years later. There is no team out there that will want to lose, if it was the other way round we would want to relegate them, no need to hate them for that reason I wouldn't say I hate any team though, even the sh1t, I just pity them.

pi*s poor for a club with Sunderlands resources having to rely on the play offs after finishing 5th in L1. even more so considering they have the best striker that league

Hanlan showing his quality 60 seconds before that second goal 🤣 Yes he did, before he tried a shot at goal. 😉 Confirming what most know, he’s a decent player but probably not a good scorer! (Save that goal v Shrewsbury last season). UTG!

Every club has a few idiots (including ours) that do these things, but it shouldn’t label their entire fan base. Personally, I’d like Mansfield to win 👍🏾 Exactly. It's just nonsense to say 'hate the club, horrible fans', as has been said so many times on here. They are just a random collection of people who usually live somewhere close to the club they watch (Premier League excluded, obvs), and there are mainly good ones and a few rotters.

Very poor quality from both teams. If they were the best two teams outside the automatic places we have nothing to fear from the step up. As has been said, brilliant from Hanlan before a Hanlanesque strike that just about dribbled into the keepers hands.

Alex Neil has hardly overachieved with Johnsons team, but no doubt will be getting all the plaudits from the media.

Let’s be honest, we all know the level of league one as fans given we’ve spent 5 out of the last 6 seasons in it. Be a step up for sure, but we’ve got a core of players at the club who will more than compete in it and I trust the recruitment process.
Congrats Sunderland for your promotion. A club of that size shouldn’t be in the second tier let alone the third.

How does that work? Regardless they'd just been thrashed by Bolton so were clearly on the decline, I don't think they lost a match since Neil took over, although with their spending power god knows why they've been stuck in L1 for so long.

Good luck the them, don’t belong in League One

Clearly on the decline who are you kidding. They lost that one match and he was sacked, he even admitted it was his fault for going all out on attack rather than keeping the score at two nil. They were joint first on points at the time. Neil won three matches in his first ten, they lost three after LJ left and they only finished 5th in the playoffs. Kevin Phillips even mentioned that LJ should take a lot of credit for this last season after the game on Sky.

Think LJ was harshly treated, the result which led to the sack could happen to any team any time, just one of those days, we had one for 1/2 hour at Exeter, Wael didn't panic thank goodness! any way Sunderland did not follow the script, the big man was supposed to come on and win it for Wycombe! spoil sports! As for Brandon, had a good season in promotion challenging side.

I liked Hanlan but 7 goals was a pretty poor return for Wycombe.
Didn’t he score 8 for us before Christmas?
