Britain in 2021.
"Nationalist organisation Patriotic Alternative is understood to be leading a group of demonstrators against children's author Aida H Dee reading to families at the London art gallery.
They came face to face with counter-protesters, led by campaign group Stand Up To Racism, gathered in support of the story-telling event.
People opposed to the reading held placards bearing the slogans "No drag for kids!" and "Leave our kids alone!".
A second group held signs saying "Don't let the far right divide us" and "Trans rights now"."
And
"A demonstration descended into chaos outside the Suites Hotel in Ribbers Lane, Prescot, on Friday evening as a police van was set on fire and missiles, including lit fireworks, were thrown at officers.
The police van was also struck with hammers, police say.
Knowsley MP Sir George Howarth said the demonstration was triggered by "an alleged incident on social media" and criticised misinformation claiming refugees were "feather-bedded" inside.
Clare Moseley, founder of refugee charity Care4Calais, said she was among up to 120 people from pro-migrant groups who went to the scene in reaction to the protest to show support for the asylum seekers."

Across the pond, Nikki Hayley announcing her candidacy for the Republican nomination.
"Other high-profile Republicans looking at a 2024 run include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former vice president Mike Pence, US Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson."
We are also looking at an election late 2024 or January 2025, a possible new government on both sides of the Atlantic within weeks. That doesn't happen often.

I don't know these people and probably wouldn't want to, having now read a bit about them. It seems to be an 'I can be more right wing liberal than you' contest now. Trump is to blame.

SNP infighting got there in the end? www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-64647907"Nicola Sturgeon is to resign as Scotland's first minister after more than eight years in the role. The Scottish National Party leader is expected to make the announcement at a hastily-arranged news conference in Edinburgh. It is not clear exactly when she will leave office. Ms Sturgeon has been first minister since November 2014, when she took over from Alex Salmond following the independence referendum. She went on to become the country's longest-serving first minister."

Corbyn being ousted, may stand as an independent. Starmer definitely sorting out antisemitism and isolating the left. With EU and business now looking to Labour it's going to be an interesting, if drawn out, run into the next General Election.
"Jeremy Corbyn will not be a Labour candidate at the next general election, party leader Sir Keir Starmer has said.
Mr Corbyn was suspended as a Labour MP and sits as an independent because of a row over antisemitism.
The former Labour leader had hoped to be readmitted so he could stand for re-election as a Labour candidate.
But Sir Keir said the party had changed under his leadership and "we are not going back", adding that if others did not back him they could leave."

Looks like it's kicking off in Brazil a la Capitol riots. In the meantime Turkey are still holding out on Swedish Nato membership. Eastern European countries fast tracked into EU and NATO but Turkey been waiting for decades! Has NATO bases but shame they are not Christian although Ataturk made Turkey a secular country. PS Ertugrul Resurrection? 😂

Rewarded with an index linked final salary pension and a non executive directorship with a favourable contractor. Just as an aside, Ajax was originally started as a concept over 20 years ago, go back a generation or two, we went from Sherman to Chieftain in that time frame. It's shocking Stuart, who runs forces procurement is it just the Civil Service or a combo of them and Snr Officers if the latter were f.....g doomed!! Been given the thumbs up by Wallace, looks like we are going to pay the balance now and proceed. The problem was noise and vibration, solution is a padded seat and two sets of ear defenders. Army went with the wrong vehicle but is determined to make the best of it.

Can young people not use a Citizen card or Pass card as an acceptable form of ID to vote? Also 60+ oyster cards are applied for using a form of ID such as passport or driver's license where as a student oyster card isn't. (As I understand)

As someone who deals with ID&V checks in my job I'm aware of some who struggle to provide items on the accepted list. It's trying to fix a non problem, really though. By the way, it's DrivING LicenCe in the UK. 😇

The conviction for voter fraud...would that be Mohammad Zain Qureshi who admitted he voted twice for Labour in the general election ? Just because one person was convicted doesn't mean it doesn't go on. There are 100s of fraud cases at each election investigated so surely having to produce ID can only be a good thing to save time and police man hours investigating it. By the way I think you've confused as to who is a Conservative MP. The last sitting MP to be jailed is Fiona Onasanya (Labour) the first serving MP to be jailed in 28 years since Terry Fields in 1991 who was also Labour.

Mind you the whole bloody lot should have been locked up for the state they’ve made of the UK in the last 13 yrs. The point I was trying to illustrate was this is so bloody obviously skewed in favour of older voters than younger voters it’s a joke . You know this as well but as always you’ll wave your little Tory flag and fight the good fight trying to convince us all black is white 🙄😂 Good to have you back by the way 👍
