Looks like just what we need. Pirate- I’m sure he’s been on your recommendations list in the past.

As others have said; looks like a really good signing but let’s make sure we give him time. It took Connor Taylor a little while to find his feet…. Welcome though 👏 I remember telling my old man that Taylor looked the business after seeing the Plymouth friendly, and was really surprised it took injuries to give him a run of games

Looks a good signing on paper and will hopefully strengthen our leaky defence. Welcome to the Gas, Jarell! Still think we need a quality experienced centre back to bring the best out of thee youngsters. Rather we signed a decent Midfielder. We still only have 3 center backs don't we? One of them is injured as well. I would like a centre midfielder as well, but another defender is a must.

New Rovers Defender JARELL AMORIN QUANSAH Born 29.1.2003 Warrington Height & Weight 6’ 3”; 12 st 9 lbs Centre Back Career: Woolston Rovers; 2008 Liverpool (professional, 4.2.21).20.1.23 Bristol Rovers (loan Calm, focused and strong, Jarell Quansah will hopefully offer precisely what Joey Barton’s Rovers side has been lacking in defence in the spring of 2023. The teenage right-sided central defender and occasional right-back joined on loan from Liverpool, where he had come through the ranks and, even if he had not made the first-team, had been an unused substitute as the champions drew 2-2 with Spurs in the Premier League in December 2021. “A man mountain”, according to the Reds’ Under-18 coach, Marc Bridge-Wilkinson, Quansah had helped Liverpool win the 2019 Mercedes-Benz Junior Cup, had captained the Under-18 side to the May 2021 FA Youth Cup Final, which was lost 2-1 to Aston Villa, and had captained the UEFA Youth League side in 2021-22, playing for the reserves as they competed in the Premier League 2 as well as winning the Lancashire Senior Cup. Eligible to represent England, Scotland, Ghana or Barbados, he scored once in two appearances for England’s Under-16 side, played three times at Under-17 level and once at Under-18 before scoring twice in eight games in 2021-22 for the England Under-19 side. One of these goals came eight minutes from time in the semi-final of the 2022 Under-19 Euros in Slovakia, heading home following a corner to defeat Italy 2-1; in the final, he set up England’s equaliser, as the Lions ran out 3-1 victors over Israel after extra time. Quansah was chosen for the Team of the Tournament. Samuel Quansah senior, his grandfather, had played for Ghana in Olympic Qualifiers before moving to England in 1958 to study and playing in the early 1960s for Stalybridge Celtic; Samuel Quansah junior, who played for Abbey Hey, married a Scottish girl and they had two sons, Jarell’s elder brother being Keenan Quansah, a right-back at Southport. Compiled by Stephen Byrne Stay Healthy and fit you will be a popular player if you stop goals being conceded ! No one's going to read that. I did - was interesting, thanks for the post

Looks like he’s trained with the team today and if he’s done well no reason why he shouldn’t go straight in, regardless of age and lack of experience. Elliot Anderson raised a few eyebrows when he came straight into the starting line up immediately after arriving and that didn’t turn out too bad in the end 😁.

Good signing ON PAPER but you would have said the same about Jake Clarke-Salter and he was sh**. One thing I have learned from signing players in the past is not to get too carried away either way and to judge on how they do with us. Just thinking of recent examples. Belshaw a a number 1 for example. Who would have thought he would be our number 1 after signing from Harrogate as number 2 and doing so well. Oztumer looked a great signing but was a huge disappointment.

I can think of loads of disappointing ones like Oztumer. But I thought Jake CS was ok. Of course he made mistakes he was only 18/19 wasn’t he? Young player so perhaps inconsistencies were to be expected. JQ has a great pedigree, so let’s hope he gets some slack if he makes mistakes but you don’t get to what he’s achieved so far without being a good player. Welcome Jarell, good luck. UTG!

It seems a bit of a coup signing one of Liverpool's best youngsters on loan, although the concern is always going to be he's another JC-S but as JB's actually watched him play last week before agreeing a deal you have to hope he's seen enough to make him feel he's ready for L1 football.

We agree on the point but Re JCS I don't care if he's 18/19, he came here to do a job and was not good enough in L1 at that time IMO.

If we'd stuck to the thinking tht every youngster is another JCS then we'd have never signed Taylor or Connolly last season, JB's watched JQ play last week so if he turns out to be another JCS the blame will lie solely with him.

Play football for BRFC which he did, fairly well imo. You may be right about that age is irrelevant but I guess if he was 23/24 then he wouldn’t have been coming here. Anyway, a long time ago and he’s played Championship football since. Whatever let’s hope JQ has a successful time here. UTG!
