knowing our luck they will find a rare breed of housemartins in the roof when pulling it down Keep an eye out for the tweet. Don't get too excited, the new design will be nothing to crow about.

Yeah we could also have the Kanye West stand, the Hitchcock North by Northwest stand and the Ray East Stand (I think he was a cricketer some time ago). Take a leaf out of fgr and build a new wooden East stand...The Clint Eastwood stand... I saw what you did there. This thread is getting hammered with puns

I think if any club is going to build a new stand then they must justify the additional income . This is why it is important we stay in division one . I think we could potentially recover the expenditure in a few seasons by allowing away fans up to 2000 plus. I still think 6_8 away teams would of brought 2000 plus this season.
If we did go down ( please not) then it opens up the possibility of using the money to revamp the exciting structure and sticking to 10000 in division two.

I could be wrong but I believe the capacity is now 10000. They had 9k v FGR : 9.2k v Muff 9.7k v cheltenham but they were short by 300-400 ( C.F.C). To justify spending quite a bit of money on a L shaped stand must mean an increase to around 11000 - 11500 otherwise its not worth it. To improve the matchday experience might be enough. Like putting a roof on the north terrace did. One suggestion is like putting a roof on North terrace did (see above)

Which of the structures is the exciting one? I have continually said we need a new south stand and we need to increase away support to fill up the ground. However other people reckons we need to address exciting facilities and make it more ' comfortable' ( see above). The problem with this theory is that it don't generate extra income like a new south stand would.

A few thoughts on this.
If we build a new south stand would we have away fans there? If we are building a south stand which goes around to the west stand then some consideration needs to be given to a possible future development of the west stand. Would the stand cover the full length of the pitch (has someone managed to work out how to move the electric cable 😂) would the south stand be moved forward and the pitch moved and what about ground maintenance access. Aren't the gaps between the current structures use for getting tractor etc in for pitch maintenance?
Regarding moving the pitch. It is already off centre for the east stand. I'm sure a 5 metre move wouldn't be too much of an issue. Just move the dugouts. It would make the tunnel closer to the centre.
If this happens it would be a positive move and potentially give us an extra 1K-2K seats/capacity.

If the drainage is being redone in the summer then I assume moving the pitch a few yards north would not be a major issue. Already turf behind the Thatchers goal anyway. No issue with far end of away terrace being slightly behind the goal line as that's no different than the north end of the same terrace at the moment. Carlisles East stand is off centre for a pitch move that never happened. OK symmetry a bit out but no problem with dugouts as they are off centre anyway (surprising how many don't know this)

There would be a certain distance into the east terrace that a roof could be that doesnt block east stand sight lines. The way the north terrace roof covers the corner (could that roof not be extended another 20ft ? ).

Has this new South Stand actually been given the go ahead? No !. The club haven't finalised it or it's not gone to the mandatory 90 day planning at BCC. Even the tents needed to go to full planning allowing objections and lots of planning reports.

Has this new South Stand actually been given the go ahead? No, TG's programme notes state they are looking into it. I suspect the principle has been agreed but the actual feasibility hasn't been made public and we are still to see exactly what can be done. In terms of an L shape, could we still incorporate the floodlight or will it have to be moved? I guess if we keep height the same, planning won't be an issue, but if we want to go higher though?

If an application went in on 1 March that would put us into June, leaving 6 weeks to take down and build before the season starts. Cutting it fine. Is that how it works, or could we start with our fingers crossed??

We will see them when done. Been a while since we had a 3d pic to look at.

Know it will only be very basic but was amazed at what they had to do recently at Fulham with cranes having to be floated in the Thames. Anything however modest will be an improvement on the awful, embarrassing and very old South Tent monstrosity.
