I wonder who the individuals who were self interested were?.Any connections with Aldershot and Yeovil possibly?. There was most likely a whole gang of them, given there's been a massive clear out from the CEO and HoR downward. Fairly sure some of them post on here, just to stir up bad feeling and resentment.

He’s thin skinned cos he’s only getting fair criticism ? How do you know what nonsense and abuse he has to put up with? Imagine it’s pretty awful bearing in mind the same fans give Pete the nicest guy trying to deal with tickets an absolute torrid time. Fair question. Given that almost no abuse of him has come about in the public eye, other than that racist vermin who got done, most of his social media replies are positive, and that his own references to criticism in the letter seem to be about criticism as opposed to abuse, I assume he's talking about criticism as opposed to abuse. No doubt our fanbase, as per all clubs, have their morons though, from the people who hounded Pete to the IRA chanters in the North terrace. If Wael is indeed getting abuse it's never justified, but that's not the impression I got from the letter.

As in, never ask questions or disagree? How about the likes of Swissgas and KP simply making up untruths to support their agenda? I don't frequent this place enough these days to know or care what they say or do.

Mmm, great letter Wael, i think he is only human and like most of us when you have put your heart and soul (and no little cash) into something and some of those you are doing it for are less than grateful ,it hurts, thick or thin skinned, perhaps we could do an open letter from us all to assure him of our gratitude and support and try not to take any notice of the tiny minority who have an agenda against him, thank you Wael ,up the Wael and Rovers.!

Thin skinned should be used to it, wasn't particularly nice it? How about 'nice to hear from our owner, grateful for his financial backing through difficult times, things are improving and great news about the Quarters and our new Stadium'?

I find the reaction to any criticism of WAQ hilariously over the top. He owns a football club, has any owner of any club ever avoided criticism? Lansdown, over the river, gets pelters despite building them a stadium they own out of his own pocket. Abramovich used to get a wee bit of stick when Chelsea went bad, despite everything. WAQ seems remarkably thin skinned. The facts are, yes, he's put a load of cash in, some converted to capital, some not, and, without some sort of rich benefactor, as with 90% of the EFL, we'd have had some trouble in the COVID times. But then you have to remember that owners were protecting their own assets in these times. The training ground is all well and good, again. But the club loses money hand over fist, hasn't moved forward on the pitch in 7 years, and for all the excitement over a statement saying a drawing of a stadium may come soon, we're still at the Mem. From all accounts he's a nice guy and he cares, which is lovely, and he's doing an OK job, but the reaction on here and social media to any view that isn't gushing praise of the bloke is hilariously OTT. Anyone who says anything critical is immediately a better or not a proper fan. We haven't moved forward on the pitch in all my 60 odd years as a fan!, but have a look at the National league ,there but for the grace of Wael go Bristol Rovers! just be bloody thankful what we got!

So you think people who own football clubs should expect no criticism, however unfounded? This is exactly what I'm on about, anything that isn't bowing at the guy's feet us seen as unfair, or, as seen on social media and this thread, evidence of an 'agenda'. I doubt even the man himself thinks he's perfect and hasn't made mistakes.

Didn’t a group of (what I’ll only describe as f**kheads) report him to the police for a very serious crime, which was as ridiculous as much as it was unfounded? Can understand why the guy might be a bit sensitive to the odd slating when he’s done nothing but amazing things for this football club and its supporters then have to put up with that s**t.
Up the Gas & up the Wael.

f**k the he said, she said stuff… in amongst this statement Wael is essentially committing to:
New stadium at Fruit Market (how ever that unfolds) New South Stand in the meantime (due to be released imminently) Phase 2 at the Quarters which sounds to me different to what has already achieved PP as they need to apply for planning again and there will be a community element (ie money making) Cat 2 Academy off the back of the above.
Say what you like about the bloke but if he ticks off that list I’ll tickle his tummy any time he wants!

At least by taking his time he is ensuring we look to get the best possible for the club. Yes the club continues to lose money, but it would lose far more without him.

I don’t think anyone minds criticism but more often than not, people make up stories or untrue statements from “sources” and constantly pedal it like it is true.
This year I’ve been reliably told that we’ve been up for sale, we’ve been offered around on the football black market, we’re skint, Hani is still funding us, Wael has lost interest because he hasn’t been at games and some of what I hear gets pedalled on here as well.
KP saying the FM stadium is dead and follow the crumbs after speaking with lots of people involved (ok then) and Swiss on the other forum spouting all sorts of prophecies which in the last 2 days have been quashed.
You’d think one of them would learn a lesson as the last time we were £18m in debt, Wael had run out of money and administration was around the corner, then the very next day he capitalised the lot.
I think that’s the it that gets to Wael, just the lies and smears when in reality, he’s working hard to deliver us what no other owner has done in 60 years which is build and own a proper stadium.

No one’s perfect, but after the mess our previous ownership left us in after the Sainsbury’s fiasco, I’am forever grateful that Wael & his family has steadied the ship & given present & future generations of Gasheads a hope that the club can finally go on & achieve success going forward.

Fantastic letter from Wael - a very genuine guy and true blue!
We are very lucky to have such an owner in my opinion.
