Gutted. Great broadcaster. The others on Radio Bristol don't come close.

Will be missed, he IS radio Bristol sport who managed to win over all listeners what ever' their allegiance. 'younger' viewers may not know him from his playing days( i remember his father playing!) but he was part of one of the best defensive units we ever had, had a little tiff with Gerry Francis but that was soon forgotten, came back briefly as assistant to Olly but did not work out, presume he is retiring though still a youngster or is he going elsewhere ? best of luck Geoff and thanks for the memories on and off the pitch, think a good send off from Gas eds is merited at one of our home games.

So many great interviews delivered by Geoff over the years to extract all the information he could out of players, managers and owners for Rovers supporters. Listening to local sporting coverage of Rovers won’t be the same without him.
Cheers Geoff, Gas legend. Best of luck for your future endeavours.

As others have posted that's a rel shame, I didn't realise he's in his sixty's so I guess he was always going to retire sooner or later, he does seem irreplaceable at R Bristol particularly as far as Rovers are concerned.

To use his own words - top man!
I’m a bit sad about this, because he’s really good at his job and it’s always great to hear him talk about his playing days at the Gas. Talking of which, does anyone else who saw him play suddenly feel very old to think he’s been broadcasting on Radio Bristol for 30 years?

Very sorry to hear this because he's a great broadcaster. We've probably heard more home truths about the local clubs from him, extracted with a gentle but determined line of questioning, than from the clubs themselves. He's also great with callers. Respectful and polite but not willing to put up with any nonsense, of which there is plenty.
Best wishes in the future GT.

Yes, but I was very young. 😇 Some interesting names on his twitter thread, Nigel Martyn, Ali Bruce-Ball, Bobby Gould to name a few.

Bit gutted really. He is literally the voice I've grown up to. Brilliant host, interviewer & commentator.
The fact that he managed to turn the Teds into supporters, really says a lot about the man.

The first one I remember was Colin “the keeper had no chance at all” Howlett. Then it was GT either on comms on doing the brilliant build ups and phone ins. I like Ali Durden, maybe he’ll fancy it.

Geoff Two Zero Man!
An early hero of mine on the pitch, an off the pitch hero of mine recently. As many others have said he is the sound of West Country Sport. They will replace the man, they won’t replace the knowledge and insight.
Cheers Geoff!

The familiar voice of local sport for so long. Geoff will be greatly missed and radio Bristol simply won't be the same without him.

A class act for sure. I wasn't that keen at the start of his broadcasting career but he got better and better as time wore on. A great professional for our club and then for the BBC.
