Drinking time in the fanzone, what a joke, queued for twenty minutes and gave up, will be back to The Anchor or The Wellington next season, thought I’d try it as that’s where my pals were heading. Oh and the food huts need a kick, fifteen minutes in my boy wanted a drink, queued while the children “serving” checked their phones and ignored customers. Thought Bolton took the two goals well in the second half, we didn’t deserve anything, hopefully the last time we will see a few of those players in Rovers shirts. Fans zone and getting drinks has always been a bit of a ball ache . It was virtually impossible last season, then got a bit better . I wasn’t there today but guessing the sun was out and a big crowd and they simply couldn’t cope with the numbers. Probably the unusual kick off time on a Sunday meant getting staff wasn't that straightforward, plus the staff may well have been looking for extra pay for working on a Sunday?

Disappointed that we didn't get to say a proper "Goodbye" to Geoff today, would have been nice to hear his name sung at The Mem for one last time.

I said on another thread the Extra Time club (the Community Trusts over 65 club), had a Q&A with Geoff last week.
This was postponed, but I believe it has been re-scheduled for the 30th (10am at the Mem).

Had a chat with an old childhood friend at the Awards dinner, 20man Jnr. It was said he and Geoff were looking forward to attending some home and away games next season, as it’s something they’ve never been able to do together as supporters.
I’m sure Geoff’s first experience as a genuine fan like the rest of us (with zero work responsibilities on the day) will see Wael/the club put on something special for him.

Pure incompetence Yatton, the bar I was queued in only had cider apparently, just keep pouring the stuff surely? Anyways I’m in a bad mood so perhaps that’s getting the worse of me, my train failed to arrive, my ex failed to collect my son and my pals let me down for a evening out in Bristol, Yourube it is with the boy 🤣 Sounds like you had a 5h1t day fella. I find these things tend to balance out, in time

I hope so - it would be nice for Geoff to have a show of appreciation from Rovers fans. Last I saw of young Mark he was frequenting AG with Dean Edwards, the TV Chef - glad to hear that he's seen the light!

Geoff was an average player but a legendary sports broadcaster. Maybe he will now move back to Merseyside area.

No doubt Radio Bristol are now looking for a young "hip" sports presenter successor. No pressure! In some people's eyes such presenters are thought as two-a-penny.

Wasn't there talk of doing away with sport on BBC local radio? Staions would broadcast the Radio 5 national coverage on Saturday afternoons.

No plans to replace him, massive cuts in Local Radio Sad to read that, however, I'm not really surprised - I don't think the BBC are tuned in to what their listeners/viewers actually want.

Hope he gets on well
