I learnt that some people have no idea how you would manage a team and think the best way to inspire and lead is to tell everybody they aren’t good enough despite the league table showing they are better than 25% of them and not far off 50% of the others. It certainly did not stop Barton from throwing players under the bus before. It’s not like he has been consistent in talking the club and team up. Was only a few weeks ago he was having a pop at the pitch and saying he will have to consider what to do. And I’d agree that it’s not the approach I’d take, but in those specific player cases they’ve tended to be what was needed, albeit not how I’d like it. My response was specific to the quoted post above it, where Herbert Blake stated that apparently we are being consistently too nice and should tell the whole squad they are not good enough despite finishing lower mid table in a higher division than the previous year. I do agree with being uncomfortable with the public “under the bus” stuff, but if Luke Thomas really is interested in returning then it seems to work in certain situations |

Regardless of what we think it’s the manager who has to live with it. JB's now confirmed Anderson won't be offered a contract this summer, was the whole OP made up? No I was there and JB did a brief speech thanking fans for our unwavering support and did say this time next year we’ll be a Championship club…. I didn’t hear him talk contracts publicly to the crowd but I know that we are really keen on bringing Gibson back next year (as a perm as he’s out of contract at Everton) and he rates Anderson and would like to offer him something but can’t at the moment because of his poor injury record this season… he’s said to him to come in pre season, prove his fitness and then we’ll offer terms. Ward is keen on signing and we’re keen on Ward so I think a deal will be struck there… I don’t believe Belly will be leaving (I hope not) because genuinely I don’t see and haven’t seen any keepers this season who I think are all round better than him - not unless we signed an established Championship or Prem keeper… What I do know is JB is genuine in us going for it next season. I think he’s going to be given a healthy budget and what with the new South Stand that’ll be in place and further work at the Quarters and also we’ll hear more about the FM - it’ll be an exciting season next year 👍 |

Gibson I would be very pleased to see back tho so I don’t learn either 🤣 He looked far better than Sincs did yesterday v Sheff Weds, he looked like a player prepared to take on opposition defenders at speed, something we've sadly lacked this season. Although whether he genuinely wants to return is anybody's guess. Saying it and then doing it are two different things for footballers. |

Apart from time out when he broke his leg. If they don't go up you would assume he will still be part of their plans next season? I wonder if he is out of contract this summer? |

Did McCormick actually enter the field of play, I assume he did but didn't actually notice if he did or not. If he did JB possibly got some agreement with the 4th official and Bolton's manager as it was so late on in the game all a bit risky if he did.
