In the few games (I admit!) I saw him Thomas looked good and was a threat in the opposing box. And whatever the statistics our defence looked poorer with him not being there after January. Helped take Barnsley to the play offs instead of us. But because JB fell out with him I think we were meant to as well! 😉 UTG! Crap passer imo. |

Thomas was no rock at the back and did not strengthen Barnsley in any major way Perhaps he didn't need to strengthen them he just needed to get them to the play offs, which he clearly succeeded in doing, meanwhile we had to suffer watching Quansah for the rest of last season. |

Quansah was poor, agreed. Not sure how beneficial playoffs are if you don’t go up, with the exception of gate money for the extra games. They now find themselves in the same league, starting again, with several players gone. He seems to have helped them continue to not quite be good enough. I reckon they’ll be hoping for better from Kacper Lopata than they got from him, and think that will indeed be the case. |

always liked him at Wimbledon as he scored against us - but isnt he similar to what we have? We need a main target man apart from Lofty to give us a more physical plan B |

As we saw in the play off final, Thomas is an excellent defender with a real stupid mistake in him which usually leads to a goal. That was his major weakness and it continued when he moved to Barnsley. |

I know it was a fan-less season at the end, but still Yes, I seem to remember that as well so although he was as good as most of that squad I think there are better defensively around than him at the moment. We may even have them already. Iirc he played more in midfield and did he for much of his time at Shrewsbury? He wouldn’t get into our midfield atm. UTG! |

We have gone miles past Leahy hope we don’t touch this one to be fair, he’s not the Wing back that we remember. Cotterill positioned him as CM and Shrewsbury fans really rate his leadership and ball retention. Not saying we are interested, but could be a good coutts replacement. |
