They are all right footed i think. Except friend who would only play in back 3 Connolly has played there. I assume Crama did for us the other day? Taylor and Wilson will be first choices but only at centre of a 3 or right of 2. Leaves us with a problem! It's hard to say with Connolly but I think his left is his preferred foot. I know the preference in a 2 would be to play a right and left footed player but I would prefer to play the best 2 CB and IMO that would be Wilson and Taylor. In a 3 I would play Wilson Taylor Connolly with Crama and Friend slotting in when needed! no way is Connolly left footed! |

Part of me buzzing, part of me worried. He looked good during his first spell, but apparently he's been awful during pre season. Lots of loans, are not the same, when they sign on a permanent. But on the other side, he had his best spell, under our coaching staff. Can they bring the best out of him again and develop him further. Him and Connolly worked well together before. That's all true, but surely less risk going for a player that the management team know really well than someone they've only seen play for other clubs. There are no guarantees but Taylor performed excellently for us in L2, no reason he can't do the same in L1. True. But Connolly was better when on loan, so was McCormack. I thought Mark McKeever was one of our best wingers ever when we had him on loan. Then he was awful when he signed on a permanent. Hopefully Taylor can break the trend and the others can get better this season as well. |

Connolly struggled last season without Taylor playing alongside him, suffering a stress fracture to his back probably didn't help him as well, so far in pre season he's already been looking back to his best playing alongside Wilson. McCormick's lack of form is a complete mystery. |

Rory Gafney seemed to be able to score from almost anywhere on the pitch whilst on loan, then couldn't hit a barn door with a bango when he signed, although neither could Payne nor Nichols and neither of them joined us on loan.
