Wow, up to 2000 isn't it? Not sure on the allocation as Portsmouth are revamping the away end and it won't be fully finished until the end of September.

Ok early for these questions I know but maybe a welcome distraction for a few from a certain other thread. I am taking my two kids to Pompey away first game. Can anybody with past experience of Fratton Park please advise: - I am driving so best place to park? - When do we expect tickets to go live? - How many do they usually give us? Cant be arsed to look back at records tbh. Thanks all.
The parking can be a bit of a nightmare, depending on what sort of time you get down; and there are quite a few residents schemes in the vicinity. If you want to play it safe and don't mind a 15-20 minute walk to the stadium the side roads in the 'Baffins' area are usually a pretty good bet.

Looking forward to it, gave it a miss last season and haven’t been since we lost 3-1 there a few years back. Can anyone tell me the pub situation? Can I enter any of the pubs near the ground without some Pompey meathead trying to cave my head in?
The Good Companion is usually the designated 'away' pub - about 10 minutes, if that, on foot from the away end - standard Greene King Pub, and pretty spacious.
Several others in the vicinity are likely to be okay if you're not there to antagonise and are just planning a few pints in a small group.
I'd be minded to avoid the Shepherds Crook, Milton Arms and Newcombe Arms; and I think the Wetherspoons by Fratton Station (The John Jacques) will turn you away if you're in away colours. Other than that, if you're respectful you should be okay, unless there's any official advice to the contrary.
From time to time I do see a fair number of away fans drinking nearer the town centre (train through to Portsmouth and Southsea rather than Fratton [about three minutes on the train back before the game]) where there's another decent sized Spoons and four or five other well-sized pubs of different types on Guildhall Walk.

We will shift loads more than 1000 tickets 🙂 I think we could shift between 2000 -3000 but being first game of the season they might separate the away end and have half home fans as I’d imagine Pompey would sell out ?

Now sold over 1400. 2000 is all we can have.

Pompey fan in peace. Looking forward to this one. You guys always follow away well. Confirm you have 2000 and have sold most. Parking wise, get there early and the Good Companion on the Eastern road has parking for 40 or 50 cars. Also an away pub. Big pub with good food. Half a mile up the Eastern road, so as you approach, loads of pavement parking on the right hand side. That's where I park. About 20 minutes walk to the ground, going past the Good Companion. It's easy to get away after as well. Your best approach to the ground is the Eastern road. Far easier than the M275 into central Pompey. Someone mentioned 4 pubs not to go to above. Milton Arms and Shepherds crook is not a good idea but most others ok. Have a good day out, apart from the result. I'm pretty local to you all and my son lives in Long Ashton. So We are there quite a lot. Love the area if not the traffic.

Thanks for info, course you're looking forward to it, you usually get 3 points! we usually lose the first game, you must be rubbing your hands with glee, BUT things don't always go the way you expect in football so...........................

It would be very encouraging if Rovers were to win the opening game at Portsmouth, where the team invariably lose. UTG.
