Not sure if I’m being pedantic but should we by now have had an interview with either the owner or manager regarding the upcoming season? Surely we should have heard from someone regarding how the transfer window is going, our long term aims, how our injured players are progressing etc. I know we don’t seem to have a reporter but surely they can tell us all we want to know. Thoughts? UTG

Wael was on Having a Gas in April but it would be nice to have another update from him or Tom Gorringe before the season begins, agreed.

Regarding the communication it seems the Bristol Post have given up on us since Sam Frost left

Probably better we have an update once our business is done, rather than while we’re still in the midst of it?

It seems a bit early to be giving pre-season interviews, the PR build up usually starts nearer to the start of the season?

Our application ( south stand) isn't on July 19th committee B meeting. The next meeting is committee A in early August. Then there is a summer break and council meetings resume in September.
Surely : the club must know if it be ready by the Barnsley game. Otherwise : it's mid September council decision with a possible start late September / October on stand. All the club needs to do is ask the council will it be on the agenda before the summer recess which is in 2 weeks and communicate with fans.

I’m fairly convinced that the club are going to build it either concurrently to the planning process or seek approval retrospectively, given the promises they’ve made so far. To not have anything ready for the first 3/4 home games of the season would just be embarrassing.

I Actually enjoy the summer of Gas time off, nice bit of downtime from league/Cup matters while i indulge in my international exploits.
This club consumes my life August to May, definitely not interested with the ins & outs of absolutely everything between league campaigns. Kudos to those that love it 365 & 24/7 mind.

The application needs to be discussed and voted on legally . The council publish its meetings on the website for all to see. We have 3 meetings coming up before the summer recess. The first two agenda have been published and we are not on it. Then there is one more meeting committee A in early August . The secretary will form the agenda 2 weeks before this meeting for it to be legally published 7 days before for public scrutiny. The club will know by next week if it will be heard in early August or September. The notion you can build a project this size and avoid a ' full council vote ' is both false and dated.

You can build something without permission having been obtained and hope you get retrospective permission when the application is dealt with by the committee. Of course it could be refused and you might be instructed to take it down. I think the south stand (tent version) gained permission retrospectively.

Anyone can build anything prior to consent but who would ? . A project this vast incur a serious amount of money . Also there is the possibility of a legal challenge by not following the correct process. This isn't a driveway and some of the locals are well versed in legal and political fights.

Luton Town must be doing something similar, as it's hard to believe they are spending £10m on their ground this summer without it requiring pp? Perhaps the club have been informed they can proceed due to the delays within the planning dept if pp's virtually guaranteed? Not sure how retrospect pp works when someone has already submitted a planning application for the work carried out?

Just read that Luton have postponed their first premiership home fixture , as building work will not be completed in time, wondering if this could happen to our first home game against Barnsley?

If you go on BCC website it will lists the projects the club have submitted. It must of cost the clubs millions from the North stand revamp : revamp of entire ground : sell of land for UWE / plans etc etc etc.
It would be unwise to start building the stand without Full planning granted. The club is right in delaying until it is 100% legally allowed . However : the club should know very soon if it can be ready for the Barnsley game or deferred to the September meeting with a much later starting date.

I think we already know all the previous planning applications have costs millions, if they hadn't NH could well still be our owner! Happy to be corrected but surely doing all the ground work is not delaying the build? I wouldn't be surprised if fans post pictures of the metal work going up next on social media.
