Assume they have passed the EFL "test". Irrespective there have been clubs that have got into all sorts of trouble following take overs etc. It would be comforting to understand more to know all is going to be well. Unfortunately there are no guarantees in modern football and you only have to look at other and seemingly more successful clubs, to see that injections of cash does not mean success on the pitch. Anyway, as Rovers fans, we should all be more than aware of this. Maybe give the guy some time before asking probing questions. As i see it, our fan base is fantastic when we are challenging and seem to not be too bothered when we are winning. The reason debts have been cleared is that Kuwaiti people do not allow for interest bearing loans and debts so I’d imagine that this on one of the main reasons that debts have been, once again, cleared but i could be very wrong. |

Odd comment. We’re just asking for a bit of info on the people who are taking over our club that we’ve all spent a lifetime supporting. A football club means a lot to its fans …. The time wasted on here is testament to that 😂! It's only an odd comment to you because you don't agree with it, others do, thats life. Information was released earlier in this thread stating what the new owners do, its there to research, one company is real estate (the reason they are here) the other a restaurant chain. I would imagine a huge amount of work is going on behind the scenes to get the stadium over the line, work containing endless detail to pour over for the biggest project in the clubs history, Iv'e wondered how many emails billionaires and millionaires get each day and how they manage to sleep at night, even before being crazy enough to own a football club! Here we are as a club, graced with people who want to pour millions of pounds into the club to get us playing at the highest level possible, but for some it just isn't enough, can't even wait a week from arrival of new owners. I'd love to be sat in the seat I had earmarked for the south stand to celebrate 35 years watching Rovers as I'm unable to stand for more than a couple of minutes, next home game is looking like Christmas, not going to jump up and down about it, blame the owners and anyone else involved, will just sit back and let others act in a way that justifies Australias view of us as whinging poms. So, what will you do if you get moved to an area of terracing ? Genuine question BTW. |

It is telling that Weal has invested so much and yet is willing to allow someone else to purchase a majority share rather than for Wael to sell his own shares. Forgive me but if you sell 55% of the shares then are you not selling more than half of your own share, by doing so ? not if creating new shares for the new investor. |

Kuwait can't issue loans but could essentially do so via buying newly created shares as the security then selling back when the means for the investment has been fulfilled.

No one knows if this takeover is a good thing or not. Only time will tell, regardless of the wealth of the owner.
Pantsdown was/is an extremely wealthy owner and its really only in the last 4 or 5 years that he has spent his money more wisely. He bought a mid table Championship side and spent 200M turning them into a mid table Championship side.
As for those wanting to know the ins and outs of a cats arse, I understand that but Rovers have achieved more in the last few years than they ever have. No more leaky boardroom or bitter parties briefing against the owner.
WAQ has delivered on everything he has said he would other than the ground. All of it done quietly and without the need to tell every man and his dog.
If WAQ carrys on the way he has, I fully expect him to deliver a ground and a partnership that will benefit Rovers.
Aside from his choice of Manager I don't think WAQ has made a single mistep yet. How many other owners can say that?

Thanks for explaining as all i knew was that, as a rule, they would not tolerate interest bearing loans so your explanations seems spot on. As for the DS or BRFC, the EP said that the issue of new shares , wheteher the club or DS effectively meant the same thing but i am only repeating what could well be a guess. The EP is not exactly known as having it;s details as correct each time |

Have you done a deep web search of the new owner ? Surely and if he were worth a great deal of money then he would appear on the rich list but he does not. I do not think it unreasonable to know just a little more than his name and position plus what he sees as realistic timeframes for certain projects. I do not see one person wishing to prove anythng bad or harmful. Just some basic information. It does seem very odd that it seem nigh on impossible to get anything on him apart from the above mentioned |

The only reason for starting this thread was to pass on what had been told to me by a source who has always been right about Rovers, despite being a heathen Red.
Hopefully, it won't degenerate into yet another thread where certain folk veer wildly from the point, pursue their own agenda and play the victim.
