Given that Kuwait can't loan money and the new people were described by Wael as investors rather than new owners, it would be interesting to know the small print on the deal as to whether there is an option to buy back shares upon the sale of The Mem and/or move to a new stadium.

There's a lot of holier than thou nonsense on this thread.
We've just been taken over by a Kuwaiti megalord who may or may not have enough money to haul us into the Championship, or, less likely perhaps, get the new South Stand built before Xmas.
Everyone is dying to know what the answers to our many questions are, and some have been bold enough to discuss it.
No-one is demanding answers. They are just discussing what it all means. No need to call it entitlement or offence or affront.
It's a football forum, we are about to become the biggest club in the world, or not, and we are discussing it.
When did natural curiosity become prying intrusion?

When did natural curiosity become prying intrusion? I think it's just a case of the longer without the initial questions being answered, gives space for more questions being asked. I'm both on the side of letting people keep their business to themselves to a certain degree - maybe because people having more time to let their thoughts wander will obviously have more wandering thoughts, or on the other end, people will make conspiracy out of silence. I do think though, that we're all entitled to know why someone has bought into us. It's been mooted that football clubs are becoming a rich person's play thing. And we'd like to know why it's our club that he wants to play with. It's not as though we're a guaranteed money maker with a glowing return on investment, nor is it that we have a strong international brand that's ripe for investment. Saying that - the fruit market being some prime land in the centre of the second most expensive local economy in the UK would definitely be worth investing in, if only for building hotel/houses option, and the football club is just a bit-part in securing the larger vision of asset investment. A chunk of land effectively next to temple meads station is only ever going to go up in price, with the whole development of that quarter. But still, say a rich kid comes along and sees everyone playing with teams in the playground, and wants to invest into ours over the hundreds of other football teams in the country, I don't think it's unfair of us fans to ask: Why us?

I think you answered your own question. Highly unlikely these guys are keen fans of non premier league football, one even football as a sport in the UK. I have said elsewhere that it is my belief that the goal is a real estate investment and the cost is propping up the losses until that is achieved.

In which case, Wael has played a clever long game.
This guy *might* be the difference between us owning the stadium rather than loaning it.

I think you're both right! And at the same time, that won't be the answer we want to hear made public!

I think you're both right! And at the same time, that won't be the answer we want to hear made public! Not so sure, most fans will be very happy to turn up if the Stadium gets built. To Reading Gas, There is no way the club will own the stadium outright at the FM. We will be leaseholders, leasing the stadium from a property company that owns the freehold. A company of which Dwane Sports are most likely a large, but minority, shareholder.

Was hoping the Post would do a follow-up story and flesh out more details. What is the background of the investors, their net worth, what level of investment are they prepared to put in and their ambitions? I wonder what assurances have been given considering "there have also been offers from America and a consortium containing local businessmen but Wael Al-Qadi’s desire to retain a position of influence and control, coupled with his own scepticism of what’s being offered, has caused talks to break down"? I wonder if this family were one of the "offers from America"? 'The logistics firm's gross revenue last year was listed by the Transport Topics website in December 2022 as $414m, with net revenue $85m.'

I have received some knowing smiles with hints of pity knowing that GoA lives amongst us. 😔
