As we still have a few players out injured, I don't expect wholesale changes. However, a lot of those who were on the bench on Saturday should be starting in my opinion. Belshaw, Crama, Taylor, Sinclair and Evans should all be starting. Not sure if Grant is able to start but at least he should get some minutes off the bench. If we can get some of the injured players back on the bench with the view of giving them some minutes that would also be great. Last season the players stayed in a hotel overnight before the Crawley game. I would suspect that they do similar for Wednesday so will probably travel to somewhere just this side of London today, so the daily travelling distances will not be so bad. Let's face it, many clubs don't put out the best X1 for the league cup these days, so both sides will make a host of changes. We can still put out a decent line up if we use the non starters from Saturday. I know some are not fit but as a second string Belly, Gibbons, Taylor, Crama, Friend, Sinclair, Rossiter, Grant, Macca, Evans and Loft, with Hall, Jones, Lawrence and Greenslade, would probably be better than most starting sides we have had in the last few years. Its a shame the powers that be, have not got the balls to do it! i think you will see a Mixture of both ( a half hearted attempt ) and we will probably struggle because of it. Have a go at the Papa Johns yes, but EFL Cup Ipswich away and is this something we will win / or go a long way in? No, so your suggestion makes a lot of sense, and also you get to see what a few are really made of! And it will all be detrimental for Saturdays game home to Barnsley who only scored 7 last week and another away game on Tuesday Night to Charlton. My fear is we will be out of the cup and have 1 point after 3 games! Its starting to look like last season all over again!

Well let's see what happens tomorrow. ipswich website says the game cannot be streamed due to competition rules? Pretty sure only league and pizza cup games are on iFollow. League Cup games were on iFollow during the Covid season (when we also played Ipswich). I think that game was only available on iFollow for UK residents which meant I had to use a VPN!

I’ve not been paying super attention but are Gibbons, McCormick and Loft available?
I’d be tempted to rest Collins and Brown and go with Loft and Sincs instead.
Belly
Hoole (Gibbons?) Taylor Crama Jones
Grant Finley
Sincs Evans (Luke?) Greenslade
Loft
Keep the big guns for a tough game Saturday whilst getting to play those in need of minutes
We desperately need some reinforcements in the midfield!!

McCormick and Gibbons not available. Loft is but seems to be outside of plans and unlikely we'd cup tie if looking to move on.

Couple of Youngsters in Lawrence and Shaw may get a run out tonight, as much i like a few of the lineups i cant see them happening. Good to see other teams out there bedding in their youngsters last night, a lot of them in the Goals. Also seeing The Teds having 2 of there young players on Loan at league 2 Clubs (KAdji at Forest Green) and (Seb Palmer Holden at Newport) Who are Both the same age as Greenslade and both through the age groups neither as good as him (Seb even had a trial at Rovers and they turned him away) and he scored last night against Charlton. The others over the River certainly know how to bring on there Youth where we are miles behind. Exeter and Reading also fielding young teams. Hopefully we show tonight we can play some of our young and up and coming players and hold our own!

Learned something new today from Bristol World.
No prize money for winning in League Cup till semi finals and then it is only £25k.
£100k for the cup winners.
No wonder the ‘big’ clubs don’t take it seriously.

Might as well make this the match thread, so have changed the title.
