"Well it begs the question why on earth would you buy/rent a house next to a football stadium that's been there much much much longer than any of the residents ever have and complain when said stadium will make inevitable upgrades?! Half of the houses along the road have all kinds of weird and wonderful extensions on them and they certainly didn't complain when getting planning permission for that signed off. Also most of the "residents" there are Uni students down on mummy and daddy's money that will soon be going back to wherever they came from. Simple solution is don't have a house next to a football stadium then complain about it, absolutely bizarre. Also you cannot complain about parking because it will virtually bring capacity back up to what it was like before covid ..."
And the plonker then goes and clicks objects.
Dear oh dear.

I live in Street although Bristol born and bred and lived near the ground my whole life until August 2018. So I hope my support would still count despite now not having a Bristol Postcode?

There is always the chance that they bought it before Rovers were part of it, playing devils advocate here, and, instead of once a fortnight Rugby games, they had weekly footfall. Also, like it or not, there is a big difference between Rugby fans and football fans. In short, not all of the objections are completely without some merit. I would just add that the club itself, would have maybe been a bit more open with the residents and had consulted with them and shown some goodwill rather than turning up and undertaking works that have, as yet, not had any PP granted. As i say, i am just playing devils advocate. It’s also a bit of a generalisation that all are students. Sometimes it’s better to have at least given the residents some small chunks of information and maybe have even got a few onside , if it were explained properly

I know they seem to have more night games but you are right, i do not know very much of the schedules of a prem Rugby club. I will have a look and see the Bears fixtures

Looks like you are right, up to Christmas there are 11 homes games v 6 away and many of them are very close together. That is much more of a difference than i could have believed plus they tend to get bigger crowds for the Rugby

does anyone know the answer, I haven't commented yet? I went on there last night and could see names and areas but no addresses. I very much doubt they would publish addresses and especially on a topic as emotive as this Ah, sorry DrFaustus if I've given you the wrong info. I was actually the first support comment a few weeks ago and all of my information was taken out?

Most of the complaints are about the increased size of the stand and the increased number of fans using it, I can't see meeting the local residents would stop them from complaining.

It might have helped if we had explained and shown with presentations just how little was going to change when looking at the backside of the stands? Moving the pitch etc has reduced the impact at the rear. Explaining the very small increase in overall capacity and no blocking of light, little change to the natural areas etc etc. It all helps. Massaging egos and making them feel we care sometimes is better than keeping stum.

[/quote] I am just of the opinion that if you make most people feel they are a part of this then they tend to react in a more positive manner, no more and no less. I do not think that diving it and starting works, without PP would have endeared the club to the residents.
