Collins isn’t a winger and yet we are using him as one. He’s better off a big striker or as a number 10 behind the front 2 in a ACM role. The game confirmed for me today that Finley isn’t good enough if we want to be top 6, Az needs to be a striker and therefore we need another winger and that we need an out and out 20 goal season striker. Spot on, I am sure if Rossiter was fit he would be playing there Bit worrying then that he’s been made captain. |

Didn’t play very well today but was still always a threat and brought it out well to set up the goal .
Thing with Collins is in his 2 seasons with us he’s been fantastic the the second half of the first season and the first half of the second season.
Either he really is the real deal and destined to be a very top league 1 / championship player or he had a really great run of form that lasted around a year.
I suppose this season will tell us the answer to that question.

Let's be honest, if it was based on how they started the season then neither Hoole or Collins would be anywhere near the team. I don't think many of us will suddenly be claiming that neither of them is good enough for league one.
I think having patience in realising that there's a reason these guys are in league one and not the premier league. To find form, some players need a rocket up their backside and a rollicking from the manager, others need an arm around their shoulders and lifting up. For now, we have to have trust in the management team to know how best to get these players back to performing at their best.
Also madness that in an afternoon where we've at least matched one of the better teams in our division, that the first thing people are suggesting is that we need to make big changes.

Collins did some very good defensive play at times today. One moment being left wing on a set piece then suddenly popping up in the right back position saving us from a counter attack.
A free role suits him best.

We didnt match one of the best sides we actually should have beaten them by a good margin. Lets not be too rushed in decisions on individual players.

Inclined to agree. He has been crap this season and as the OP suggests the latter part of last season too. His failure to pass to Thomas deserves a dressing down. That probably cost us the win. Far too greedy. Yep, totally agree. Felt really sorry for Thomas there. He quite rightly went mental at him. |

Just because a player has a couple of off games doesn’t make them poor players. Form is temporary and class is permanent. He was voted player of the league and after just 2 league games you want to drop him ? 🙄 We're very patient as a fan base😮😮 🤣😆🤣😄😆🤣 |

Just got home. Can not believe people are suggesting dropping Collins!!!
He created the opening for the equaliser, he created other chances and was through on goal several times. He isn’t Premier League so don’t expect him to convert everything. Yes, Luke Thomas was entitled to rage at him for not passing but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t one of our best players still imo.
Finley? Ok have a moan. I felt he got caught in possession far too much today.
Nice to see Evans and Taylor looking a bit more like their League 2 selves today I felt.
Luke Thomas has come on massively since his bollocking but I don’t think something like that would work for Aaron. There was no lack of effort from him today, he covered massive areas all game and opened spaces for others let alone running into them for himself. His timing may be a fraction off but he’s only a fraction off now. I suspect he’s about to start scoring again soon. Very soon I hope 🤞 UTG!

Today we should have won at least 2-1 ……. I thought apart from the obvious golden misplaced shots we looked a good side against a top 6 side.

Disagree with op.
Agree with someone above.... he's not a left winger yet has been playing as one to accommodate a recently rejuvenation of AE (whom has been playing in a more advanced, threatening role) and LT (whom is on fire atm with looking dangerous every time he gets the ball and one goal, one assist for our 2 goals this season).
It's a team game and when SS introduced today, drop Collins reverted to his more central position, linking up with a potent front 4.
He hasn't been clinical enough in front of goal, and has temporarily lost the ruthless instinct of scoring, but it would be far worse if he was being snubbed out of matches without a sniff of chance.
Keep AC.
All will come good..

If it is correct that we are bringing in Harvey Vale, then hopfully that will allow us to play Collins in a more central attacking role, I think he is wasted being pushed out wide, a more attacking role with more oppurtunities to score could leed to him hitting the back of the net again and boosting his confidence.
Would still like us to bring in another n0 9 though.
