Collins isn’t a winger and yet we are using him as one. He’s better off a big striker or as a number 10 behind the front 2 in a ACM role. The game confirmed for me today that Finley isn’t good enough if we want to be top 6, Az needs to be a striker and therefore we need another winger and that we need an out and out 20 goal season striker. Where's the money going to come from to fund a 20 goal a season striker, which at this stage of the transfer window will now require a substantial transfer fee, when the new co-owner suggested yesterday that promotion is not a priority? |

When he plays through the middle again he will look a better player, playing too deep and wide for me, looks classier in 10 role.

One of the things that makes him such a dangerous player is he can beat a man on either side when he squares them up and is great with both feet. Sticking him out on the touch line removes a lot of that ability. He also spends too much of the game chasing opposition players back down the touchline towards our own goal for my liking. The workrate is admirable but I want him closer to their goal for more of the game than we’re seeing atm. |

My conclusion in the current set up is that there is room for evans OR Collins but not both.
On the strength of yesterday that man for me right now is evans.

Just posted this on a different thread...we are the only club with 2 players in the top 10 for Chances Created in League One so far this season (Aaron Collins and Antony Evans) and Collins is also joint 3rd in the Big Chances created list. |

Would suggest Collins is best playing wide left or loan striker.
Evans best in the centre of the three.
Think this was evident last night.

Very good last night as played in more of a central role.
1 assist, could've been a few more had we been more ruthless in front of goal.
His all round play is amazing and his engine enthusiasm is incredible.
Just play him in his preferred position to get the best out of him! Simples!?

One or the other but today he was totally ineffective. If it’s positional then move him, if it’s form then drop him. But you aren’t wrong about the others. Finley, Sinclair both had off games. The point about having lots of midfielders is that they can be dropped and someone else can stake a claim. |

He is not as good as he thinks he is, standard league one player, not one of the best, Needs to realise that and crack on.

Apologies, but Collins has been disinterested and ineffective (generally) since Christmas. He was awful today.

Pressure and expectation is making Collins think too much. He needs to relax and enjoy pkaying...and not be afraid to shoot or take somebody on.
He is a gifted player and needs to just go enjoy his game.

Speculating here but I wonder if the links to Championship clubs, the Wales squad and subsequently winning L1 POTY has gone to his head a bit. He is a phenomenal player at this level but right now doesn't look like a starter in our own team.

He looks to me like a player that knows hes moving on and doesn't want to get Injured. His effort is appalling. The amount of times he refused to challenge Their centre halves today and gave them free clearance headers had me raging. Our full backs offered 10 times the attacking threat today as Collins did for the entire match. He has to be at the least dropped or sold if his hearts not here anymore.

He’s basically playing like Matt Taylor did in the weeks before he left us for South Bristol. First and foremost he seems to be avoiding any chance of an injury.
