Can not remember the last time I bought the Bristol Post don’t blame JB for not speaking to them so biased towards the Dark Side talking about the Green un anybody remember the Pink un those were the days I remember our secretary back in the day would measure the column inches in the Post and if Rovers received less than City he would give them hell. Back then it was the only news outlet. Now it's a website full of adverts, clickbait and stories lifted from here.

Does anyone really bother reading anything rovers related from the Bristol Post anyway, I know I don't. Times have changed, there are other quicker more informative channels to get a rovers fix these days. Such as? Bristol World copy Bristol Live's articles and BBC News print an article about once a week, there are no local news sites regularly publishing Rovers related articles. The national press can't stand us because of who we appointed as manager. I can't see I've ever felt the match reporting etc was biased and the club hasn't helped itself as far as the stand is concerned. A hell of a lot of their articles seem to coincide with nonsense posted on here.

You can understand where the bias comes from. You’re a reporter or an editor and their time down the gate is all luxury boxes, hospitality. Drinkies and canapés. I would imagine there are a lot of perks to hanging out down there.
For us there’s the cold windswept men and a pasty hut.
It shouldn’t influence matters but it does.

Imagine how bad the coverage would be if we actually gave them negative stuff to report.

Last time I bought the post was the front page of the stadium picture before the uwe. Possibly the mem redevelopment in about 2006ish. Bring back the green un. Anyone known why it was called that? I used to actually like The Green Un, read it quite a bit, must've been late 90's, early 2000's last time I read it though. Think it was named after the Newsprint it used to be printed on. Not forgetting the Pink un!

Don't blame him. Tristan Cock is a weasly 82er, with the journalistic ability of a manky toenail. The new Rovers guy just seems to regurgitate stuff from elsewhere, so there's nothing lost here.

Seriously, if this is about the South Stand reporting, why is Joey bothered about that, surely he should brush that off as not his remit
The reporting of the team has been perfectly fair and positive so far this season.

Spot on. Dont get this at all. It certainly wont be about any city bias. Yes it is underfunded click bait horrible website nonsense but so what, all local "papers" are. Some people on here would turn on their close family if Joey had a problem with them

Question Where was this reported? What is the issue?
Prattling on about the website and click bait etc is not justification.

Frost knew his readership and kept his articles short, sweet and to the point to stay onside with the club and not ruffle any feathers. This new bloke has a more analytical approach - albeit with an inflated word count (not unlike Barton's incoherent ramblings actually but a bit more stylish). Barton comes across as a control freak who uses divisive tactics to enhance his popularity and deflect blame onto anyone but himself. His exclusive mutual admiration society Twitter account is his sniper's bunker. It's all very dictatorial and the club really needs to stamp it out now. Nobody is bigger than the club - not even Barton.

Read Ollie’s book. He has mentioned how he had coming togethers with the Evening Post as it then was (or perhaps Radio Bristol) and had the journos down to the training ground for comments which he didn’t agree with on the players in match day ratings.
No different really - JB has obviously seen something he takes issue with and has responded to it.

"I’ve decided I won’t be speaking to the Bristol Post. I’m not contractually obligated to. I don’t feel their coverage of our football club is balanced. I don’t believe they support our football club or team in a positive manner. I believe they always use negativity when they refer to our club. Unless things improve, they will get nothing directly from me unless they subscribe to my X/Twitter business account" Fixed that for you or he is absolutely correct because it's a load of sh**e

Nobody is bigger than the club - not even Barton. The players seem to be buying into it. Judging by the celebrations after Macca's goal on Tuesday. If that team spirit is brought on from Bartons 'Bunker' mentality, then more of the same, please!

Anyway, the reporting of the team this summer/start of the season has been perfectly fair and positive. If JB is annoyed over the South Stand, than he should be ignoring that anyway. If we don't want negative reporting, than there are plenty of things the club could do to rectify that The Post have stayed far away from the legal issues other than reporting the trial days themselves

Outside of the South Stand Issue (Which should be of little concern t the manager other than wanting an atmosphere) What has been the negative reporting?

I don't read the paper so don't know (or care) but this sounds like a load of unnecessary nonsense.
