Really frustrating match, we just never got going. We're crying out for a midfielder who will drive forward and draw the opposition out, passing needs to a lit quicker too. Have to say though with a decent ref we could've got a result. It was a definite foul on Bogarde before their 2nd goal and that was a stonewall penalty at the end, anywhere else on the field that's a free kick and booking. Think it's worth remembering there are 12 new signings and it'll take time for them to gel as a unit. Both new fullbacks looked decent yesterday, I'm confident that if we can bring in that final piece up top we'll be fine but there'll be a few more games like this until it starts to click. How many seasons do we drag out the old "time to gel" excuse? You're just a WUM really. As long as it keeps you happy though.. |

First 3 games against fancied clubs, looked good. Have now played 2 of the average clubs and made no impact, Lincoln will be the same next Saturday.
Surely should have been wary of Low.
Wilson lucky not to get a straight red.

If teams are sitting deep ,rather than trying to tippy tap it through them all the time start shooting from distance. Once you have pinged a decent long range shot in they will have to come out a bit more.

Apart from overlaps on the wing with Thomas(primarily). We appear to try and pass from spread positions, hoping to draw them out. But when they don't our attacks break down and fizzle out. Just my opinion and no tactician I, but whatever was going on we didn't change tactics and lost. |

Regardless of the ratio, you tend to contribute more posts to a losing thread than you do to a winning one. You made me look. I posted on the Charlton thread, but at 06:20 on the day of the match. Which is a bit strange then I remembered I was travelling that day. A bit strange though, people tracking my posts? I suspect it's more to do with my criticism of Barton than anything else. Strange none the less. I'm sure that people who have noticed the pattern are not studiously tracking your posts, it's just so easy to notice who will not be so vocal when we win. |

Once you have pinged a decent long range shot in they will have to come out a bit more. That's a bit pot luck, imo. Watching yesterday I was struck how little we "overloaded" points of attack. Apart from overlaps on the wing with Thomas(primarily). We appear to try and pass from spread positions, hoping to draw them out. But when they don't our attacks break down and fizzle out. Just my opinion and no tactician I, but whatever was going on we didn't change tactics and lost. I agree, that the majority of our attacks did "fizzle out" yesterday. I would have preferred Marquis to start against a team like Wycombe. |

What is the common denominator? The same dominator who got us promoted and after a poor start had a decent few months last season? If performances don't pick up by January then JB will be under pressure but calling for change now, after he's brought in a dozen new players, borders on madness. |

Says it all really, 100% conversion rate. 👍 More seriously though, one thing I have noticed over the years is that we tend to need three on target to score a goal, and three shots to get one on target. 12 shots should have resulted in 4 on target. Need to get some shooting practice. Or sign a striker like JCH, who managed to score goals under GC when other players wouldn't have even considered shooting. |

It offers a different dimension, repeating the same thing over and over with little success suggests predictable behaviour . Mix it up a little to keep teams on their toes a bit more. |

Blimey gas £3 for this?  That's a disgrace, I know the club needs to generate income but that's totally unacceptable, If you don't give value for money you won't get the custom. should be at least three times that amount, I would definitely put in a complaint. |

I would have preferred Marquis to start against a team like Wycombe. I left feeling really frustrated. I watched our team, full of good players, not challenging a bang average L1 team enough. I was abroad and watched the Portsmouth game on IPlayer and thought here we go, we have a team. Since then we have added value with Bogarde and Hunt who are very good players at this level. But we huffed and puffed and couldn't break them down. But worse, for me, we didn't appear to change tactics, changed players who just repeated what was being played. So what was a good start to the season is in danger of becoming a bad start. Beat Lincoln Saturday and perhaps optimism we be reignited. |

Our poor form seems to coincide with Collins going off form. If we can get him back scoring with others also chipping in and we'll be fine. That's the unknown factor.
